"I really enjoyed my stay in the cabin, but a few things downgraded the experience. The cabin faces the Lodge, the office, and the work shop / shed. This created an abundance of noise (particularly constant four-wheeler out front) and didn't make the stay feel as quiet or peaceful. I would highly suggest relocating the shed. With this said, if privacy is of no issue to you while you front porch sit, this is a great location and the river access is fantastic."
"I almost hate to leave a review because I feel like this has to be the area's best kept secret. We booked a stay here over Labor Day Weekend. We're procrastinators, so by the time we decided we wanted to camp over Labor Day, available campsites were few and far between. This campsite had several sites available and was close to home, so we jumped all over it. So happy we did. I believe this campground has around 25 sites. Of those, only 12-15 sites were occupied...OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND! It was so quiet. The sites are spread out enough that you're not right on top of your neighbor. Some sites have covered picnic tables. Ours wasn't, but that served us better since we like to move the picnic table close to our camper to cook on. All of the sites have electricity and non-potable water. The camp hosts recently added two very nice shower rooms/restrooms as well as a laundry room. The dump station is up the hill as you leave. The camp hosts even dumped our trailer! I've never had anyone do that, nor would I expect it. They definitely went above and beyond. This property is at the end of two dead-end roads...no one is going to bother you. The campground was so dark at night; quiet and peaceful. The only people at the river were other campers from our campground. Everyone was spread out. We were able to swim and rock hound. Some others were fishing and did pull up a small fish while we were watching. You're about a 15 minute drive to town (either Glen Rose or Granbury) so while it's not real convenient to run to the store, it is definitely doable. I found myself not wanting to leave the campsite though. The water they provide is non-potable, so be sure to bring drinking water. Most sites are pretty well shaded. If in doubt, give them a call. We were in site 7 which is totally shaded, but the pecan tree branches have to be taken into consideration when you back in. In my opinion, site 14 is probably the most ideal. It is a pull through site and in close proximity to the restroom and river access. But there's not really a bad site there. We highly recommend this campground and can't wait to return!"
"Bob made this experience 5 stars. He consistently checked on us to make sure we were good. Bob even came to the rescue when our awning was getting damaged by the winds! This place is a hidden gem. We will be back! James the owner is a great guy and very accommodating- we left feeling like family!"
"We had a lovely stay at Brazos River Hideout! The grounds are well maintained and the bathrooms are clean. The natural beach is within walking distance to float, kayak or fish. Site #2 was quite shady and private. This trip was our maiden voyage in our new JayCo White Hawk, so you can imagine we needed a little extra help! I cannot express how helpful, kind, and knowledgeable the staff are. They even helped the hubby back into our space and dumped our tanks. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for making our maiden voyage memorable and stress-free!"
"Our husband and I found this place online. So glad we did!!! “It’s a hidden gem”. Almost every spot has access and views to the river. This place is so beautiful! Not as crowded as your traditional campsites. The hosts Bob and Peggy are super nice and helpful. They will drive you to your campsite and help with draining septic. There is a spot to drive down to river but you MUST HAVE 4WD!!! Or you WILL get stuck. My husbands truck battery died and Bob came down there to help jump us. Beautiful campsite and awesome customer service. We will be back!! Can’t wait to brag on them. ❤️"
