By the time we decided to walk in to Chemmanur, we were exhausted. (At first we didn’t even know it was a jewelry store!) we were blown away by the customer service and the beautiful collection. "My cousin and I went to a couple of stores in the area looking for solid gold pieces that could be considered transitional wear between Indian and Western clothing. Most of the store owners were nice but lacked the solid 22k pieces or the designs would not work with Western clothes. While we did see some nice pieces at Alukkas, the ladies there seemed disinterested in helping us. One particular lady at Alukkas kept snapping at me when I asked to a few of the earrings. We eventually left because of the poor service. Long story short, we went over to Chemmanur and were greeted with impeccable service. The manager offered to clean our existing jewelry for us! The prices were reasonable and we both ended up buying wonderful and artistically created jewelry pieces. Gram to gram the prices were not far from what I would have paid in India. I will definitely be making future purchases here and would recommend them to anyone!"
