Whatever your reason, if rocks are your thing and you live in the west Houston area, then a place to visit is the Katy Rock Shop. From the outside, Katy Rock Shop looks like a house and likely started out as one before being converted to a small business. There is a porch with chairs where you can sit and examine the rocks you purchase or otherwise contemplate the geological formations of the earth before walking inside to examine the many different rocks and minerals available. Inside the Katy Rock Shop, customers will find a nice assortment of rocks and minerals of different sizes, shapes, and colors. You will find a few other accessories, too, as well as books and other things. The prices vary widely based on the size of the rock/mineral and its relative scarcity. If you don’t have a lot of cash to spare, you can focus on the smaller stones, but keep in mind that some of the larger ones can get pricey, which is to be expected. Katy Rock Shop offers friendly, helpful customer service and while there is limited parking, it is a small enough establishment that parking shouldn’t be a problem. It is a true hidden gem- pun intended- here in the west Houston suburb of Katy."

"I am obsessed!! I love this place so much. There's so much stuff to look at and admire. Some of this stuff is priced really well. The lady here gave me a quick explanation of the layout of the store, super nice, and explained their rewards program. You get $20 store credit for your birthday and every 150 points ($150 spent), you get $15 in rewards. This is a lot better than any reward program that I've been a part of. Definitely check it out!"

"I was visiting family for Thanksgiving (I’m from NJ) and wanted to find a Texas rock shop. This one caught my eye so we make a 1 hour drive to come check it out. They have a very good variety and prices for all budgets. Not to mention they had a 50% off sale going on. We bought a bunch of stuff and couldn’t be happier. Just that alone made it a great experience. But here’s the best part. While we were there my mom saw a piece she like but for some reason didn’t buy it. After we got home I gave them a call and described the piece. They found it and shipped it that same day. Merry Christmas mom!! This place ROCKS"
