"Know your gold weight and karat. Research the price of gold at the time of purchase. I didn't. It was my first time buying gold. And this business is crooked. But I accept blame also because I was ignorant. Sold me a cross and when I asked was it an Egyptian cross they said no. I took their word. Google Egyptian cross and sure enough it was an ankh. And on the receipt I later found out it was indeed an ankh. They had it in the description of receipt. I went the snap financial route. Great if you get it paid in 100 days. Long story short. I had to sell the gold. Paid $1100.00 and I got 310 for it. The gold trader was honest. Said I shouldn't of paid more than 600 after taxes for it. Gold tested good. But was just overcharged like crazy. Expensive lesson. But its ok. It's not my place to judge them. So I forgive them because I learned a lesson. Thats priceless. As for them.....well...karma works in crazy ways. But atleast I can try and help the next person."
"Intrigue Jewelers received a 1 because I could not give a negative score. Frank, the lone employee, was friendly enough and was sure that he would be able to replace the batteries in my watch. The watch required three batteries (value $3.00 online for two SR626W and one Energizer 377) because it has an indiglo type light and the watch is battery powered. We had some other shopping to do so we wandered off and assured Frank that we would return. We returned at 8:55 pm to find that Frank had disappeared from his kiosk. It appeared that the kiosk was still open as the computer and keys were still laying out. We waited 15 minutes and a young lady appeared and entered the kiosk. (She would only give me the name "employee"). We were happy that Ms. Employee returned and she seemed to be aware that I would want to pick up my watch. She handed me the watch, the hands moved and the light functioned. Frank did a fine job. I offered to pay. Ms. Employee told me "a hundred buck!" I almost choked on my tounge and laughed out loud. After my nervous humor subsided, I could feel my neck and ears turning red, a clear sign that my anger was building. "A Hundred Dollars?!" I questioned Ms. Employee. "Yes, Frank said $100" she replied. I asked Ms. Employee to produce Frank so I could determine exactly how he decided to charge me $100 for three dollars worth of batteries that only took him a couple of minutes to change. Ms Employee would only tell me that Frank was at the other kiosk and she would call him. She called someone and then she made me an offer "Sixty-Five Buck!" Once again I laughed. I pulled out my pocket knife and cracked open the watch and proceeded to remove the batteries. Ms Employee insisted that I not remove the batteries and asked how much I would want to pay. I told her in all fairness I would have paid $25 for the work and batteries, but we were too far gone and I would remove the batteries before I paid them anything. I asked her once again to produce Frank. Ms Employee said something about Frank calling his boss, the owner who is supposedly named Al, but that Frank could not come to the kiosk. I realized when I removed the watch back that the rubber gasket was gone and I asked Ms. Employee to find the gasket. She did and gave it to me. I asked her for the business card of Al the Owner and she gave me a card with the business name White Gold and Diamonds in Northeast Mall (I assume that this is the other business associated with Intrigue Jewelers). I took my watch, without their batteries and left. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF. PLEASE TELL YOUR ELDERLY FAMILY MEMBER WHO MAY BE LOOKING FOR AN EASY WATCH BATTERY REPLACEMENT THEY THEY SHOULD NOT GO TO INTRIGUE JEWELRY IN NORTHEAST MALL. PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS. PLEASE STOP BY AND TELL FRANK THAT YOU ARE NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH HIM BECAUSE OF THIS REVIEW."
"Had battery in my watch replaced. Fast service but when I returned to pick up my watch, they charged $5 more then originally quoted. I wonder how many people they do this to every day???"
