"In early 2014 Sunstone Pools and Outdoor Living completed a renovation of our backyard and pool. Another company was responsible for laying the travertine pavers/deck. Recently we noticed that a number of the travertine pavers had shifted, including a number around the perimeter of the deck. Some also had cracked. Because of Sunstone’s previous excellent work, we contacted Brad for advice. He soon had an awesome team of workers on the job, lifting the old pavers, leveling, and installing new pavers in appropriate areas. They also shored up the perimeter of the deck, inserting rebar so that the shifting would not occur again. We are grateful for the excellent team of workers and the professional job done in a very timely manner. We are very satisfied with the total experience and highly recommend Sunstone Pools and Outdoor Living."

"I hired Sunstone Pools to remodel our swimming pool and install new pavers. The scope of work included new tiles, travertine pavers, travertine coping, plaster, gas fire pit, and some equipment. Within 3 weeks of starting, the City issued a “Stop Work Order” to Sunstone Pools for not securing a permit and an electrical and gas line code violation. Sunstone Pools installed a new gas line for my fire pit with an “unlicensed plumber” and at the “wrong location.” It took Sunstone Pools almost 2 months and 4 failed attempts to secure a permit. An Atmos energy technician inspected my home and stated that the new gas line would have never worked and would have affected other gas appliances in my home and gas pool heater and a gas leak may have occurred!!!! After securing a permit, Sunstone Pools again used the same unlicensed plumber to install the second gas line and the “City stopped construction again.” After voicing my concerns regarding safety issues and other areas with the pool renovation and paver installation to Sunstone Pools owner….but not being satisfied with his response , I pursued other remedies: I hired CT Brannon Corporation, a civil engineer and aquatic consulting firm to conduct a on-site inspection and report. The 19 page report verified my complaints and additional concerns were noted. I then hired a swimming pool construction manager with 40 years of experience to conduct another on-site inspection. This study validated the engineering report and provided details on how to repair Sunstone Pools mistakes. There were many areas of concern plus broken items. An example is: Sunstone Pools used “concrete blocks” to build new steps, bench, and new wall “instead of gunite.” This type of construction is seldom used in the United States ever since gunite became widespread over 30 years ago. (See pic). I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I hired a law firm and they forwarded a demand letter to Sunstone Pools and its attorney. After fulfilling the state requirement of waiting up to 90 days and no acceptable offer, I have asked my attorney to file a lawsuit. I also filed an official complaint with the State of Texas under Deceptive Trade Practices, Implied Warranty of and Workmanlike Services. It is now under investigation."
