Shambolee Golf Course

"On a Friday mid-day in September, the pace of play was excellent. I went off as a single and finished the round in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The tee boxes and fairways/rough are in fair condition. At least they are cut low enough so you can find your ball. The greens are in good shape and fairly quick. I didn't visit a bunker so I don't know how they are but they looked ok. The staff was friendly and all in all, for the money, it was a good round. Oh, the signage could be better from hole to hole. I followed a couple of locals around the course but if there was no one in front of me I'd have had issues getting to the next hole in some spots."

"This place is very confusing, they kicked us out and accused us of playing more than 18. When we only played 16, the people there were very rude, and not understanding."

"Very nice owners and staff. Greens in very good condition even with all the heat. Player friendly and challenging at the same time. I recommend this course."

"It's a nice 18-hole course. Generally well taken care of and not too expensive. Staff have always been friendly and while the course is generally not packed, it seems to be a favorite for many, as there are always people playing. Another upside is that it can be fun for different types of players. A downside is that it is a bit out of the way for people who live in Springfield."

"Love the Golf Course, new owners are working their butts off to revamp the course and club house. As of this review they are renovating the club house to serve lunch and dinner, which I got a taste of last time I visited: Great food and prices. What I love even more is: When the new owners took over, there were a few Gaming Machines, and they took them out to open up the space for seating. The Course itself is amazing and deceptively easy. Gives a sense of links style while having trees, some holes are wide open with trees about 25ft off the fairway. You can find yourself in trouble pretty quick if you have a wicked slice or hook. If I lived closer or in Petersburg, this would be my home course and would definitely purchase a season pass, definitely worth frequent visits."
