"Both my mother and sister have been admitted to this ER and both experiences were horrendous and awful. Wait times were astronomical, staff was dismissive, rooms appeared disorganized and unclean. If I were to call 911 I would be terrified if I were taken to this ER for an emergency."
"Do not take your child here, they do not know how to treat them. My daughter nearly died because of their failure to recognize septic shock (even after I insisted she had cellulitis leading to sepsis). 103 temp, 165 heartbeat and very low blood pressure on top Of swollen red leg. They questioned whether or not I had missed her breaking her leg. We sat there for 7 hours and waited while her condition worsened. We finally got transferred to CDH where she was rushed into surgery, critically ill and put in the ICU. CDH saved her life. If I can save another parent from making the mistake we did bringing our daughter here that’s all I can hope for. I spoke to risk management and got the generic response of we will do better next time!"
"I usually don’t post things but after all of the negative reviews , I had to post my recent experience. It has been over 20 years that I called 911 for an emergency. I was taken to Delnor Hospital, a hospital I have drove past many of times but never visited. I was in severe pain not knowing I was have a kidney stone attack. I was treated with the utmost respect and concern for my pain. All I wanted was for the pain to go away. It was admitted at 1 am. There were many shift changes of nurses with all different personalities. All very professional and I was treated with outstanding care. I was scheduled for surgery 14 hours after arriving but was made very comfortable while I awaited surgery. Surgery was a success and the pain was gone. Again treated very well. Many warm blankets, socks added to my feet. I was continuously asked if I needed anything. 5 starts for this hospital. Single patient rooms and a concerned doctor I had never met before. All the nurses that were at my side should receive the award for the best nurses. No problems here. Thanks for letting me share my experience and thoughts."
"Worst ER ever. We were told by Urgent Care (also Northwestern Medicine company) to get my mom specifically to this hospital for a possible blood clot and that she’d be seen immediately as she could barely breathe. We sat in the waiting room for six hours hours and when I asked for an update I was rudely told, “This is an ER so if we say it’s a four and a half hour wait, there are no guarantees.” I told her if it’s an “emergency room” then they should start acting like it. Would NOT ever recommend anyone go here for ANY type of emergency or anything else for that matter. If I could zero star this hospital, I absolutely would."
"Please be aware!! The linens coming from your health linen service is a company that has been cross contaminating dirty linens with clean linens, violating OSHA regulations. They will have open, dirty linen carts in the clean linen room, right next to clean linen carts. Northwestern hospitals are great and deserve a better quality service."
