"This is a long review.... First of all I had surgery to remove a miscarriage I had. The hospital was paid through my insurance. However, somehow someway there was a claim that did not make it to my insurance company until a year after my surgery. I never received a bill or anything as I mourned the loss of my dead child. Well at the 1 1/2 year marker I get a collection notice for Illinois Pathology LTD. Wow... Really... They automatically hit my credit report. They called and said they were collecting a debt. It was an automated message by the way. So just like most spam messages it goes ignored. So after a few months I called them when I noticed my credit score dropped. I asked if they (collections) could send it to my insurance. They said "No, you need to contact the doctors office." They didn't give me the number either. So I researched it myself and called the billing department. They said they would resubmit the claim. I followed up with my insurance company who said they can't pay it until they reason a memo saying "why is the bill being submitted a year after the surgery." I then contacted Illinois Pathology and 3 wayed my insurance company, who was more than happy to explain what they needed. Needless to say, my insurance company spoke with them 3 times over a year. Which brings me to the constant on n off of my credit report and yo-yoing my score. So these people suck!!! Over the last 2 years I’ve been plagued with the constant reminder of my loss. As a social worker who assists other with grief and loss therapy, this has been very hard to cope with. For now on I will always ask if this company is involved. I have suffered more than I have disclosed."
