"Dr Reynaldo Castro was recommended to me by my mother, who is a current patient of his. Not for long, if she will listen to me. He was great, until I went into a Bipolar 1 Manic crisis with psychotic symptoms. He minimized my concerns about going into psychosis. He told me "You're just hyper." Great. Thanks. Hyperactivity is Bipolar Hypomania. That's where I'm at now. Bipolar Mania is a step beyond, but still manageable. Bipolar Pyschosis is another beast altogether. Upon educating myself, I've realized that I've had all 3 conditions most of my life. Dr Castro failed to intervene when I was in severe crisis. He also cancelled my critical medications without contacting me first. They just disappeared. Today, I called to see if I still had a standing order from Dr Castro for my INR/Warfarin outpatient lab testing. I need this at least once per month. Warfarin is rat poison. It prevents blood coagulation. But the levels are not easily controllable. Eat a spinach salad one day, your INR (Prothrombin Time Test and INR (PT/INR)) will fluctuate. Therefore, it is CRITICAL to test at least monthly. And adjust the dose as needed. That was going just fine. Until my most recent mental health crisis. When Dr Castro failed to take my clearly articulated concerns seriously. I get that he was in over his head. But he... just... failed me. And now, because he knows I'm switching providers - has canceled all my lab orders, including my standing order for INR testing. I know I've been overwhelmed and not keeping up with testing. But nobody called me. He just abandoned me. I could have a stroke, or cerebral hemorrhage today. I could die. Dr Castro would be on my epitaph. I'm going to do all I can to convince my 81 year mother to leave Dr Reynaldo Castro. I'm going to copy this same review to every medical website I can find. Honestly - he needs to lose his medical license. I'm fairly certain that a proper attorney could make that happen for me. But I just don't have time for that. I do have time to leave 100 reviews just like this one. I do have time to TRY to convince Mom to go elsewhere. She's 81 and developing mental health issues herself. I imagine Castro is minimizing them as well. Thanks for nothing, Reynaldo Castro. What a huge disappointment. You never once contacted me to discuss my issues with you. You just went away. Hippocratic Oath Failure 101. 'It is often said that the exact phrase "First do no harm" (Latin: Primum non nocere) is a part of the original Hippocratic oath. Although the phrase does not appear in the AD 245 version of the oath, similar intentions are vowed by, "I will abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm".'"
