Reviews
"Excellent place to learn English, very good teachers, the workers are friendly."
"Jeez. The old, red-headed lady with glasses clearly hates her life. She was very impolite, rude, and gave me an attitude when I asked her for help on finding some materials for a course."
"Good service and fair pricing."
"These people are absolutely no help. Everytime I go in trying to find help with textbooks, I get attitude and have to jump through 12 loops just to accomplish a simple task. Staff is misinformed and sent me on a wild goose chase trying to get all the information to return a book, only to tell me once I'd done everything they said that it couldn't be done. I always leave upset and frustrated."
"Not worth the hastle or money. The Elgin community College Bookstore has nothing to offer but outrageous prices and an attitude that says "I really wish I weren't here right now" from the staff. Their return policies are absurd and they themselves do not adhere to the rules for proper transactions listed on their website. ECC makes use of the bookstore By having staff From their respective departments create inefficient books which are "required" for classes and are only available through the ECC bookstore. These books are cheap and paperback and they will always be at least one hundred dollars and you will most likey not use them. Unfortunately these books are "needed" for multiple classes so your left with no other options, so make sure and ask your professor if the text are required BEFORE you purchase anything. Also if you have online classes with Pearson learning, just buy the online package for that course after speaking with your professor and not the book and code package from the ECC BookStore. The only smidgen of value this establishment possess is they are effeicent and fast at processing orders online and the man who retrieves said order is formal and well mannered unlike the rest the staff. Take it from someone who has bought lots of textbooks and has attended ECC long enough to know that you're better off finding your books elsewhere."
