"I do not feel respected or cared about whenever I go to an appointment with Dr. Sales. I have been seeing him for years, and today it finally culminated into me having a breakdown because I was tired of the way he treated me. He had no idea that I had recently been hospitalized for a very serious suicide attempt. When I told him, everything fell apart. Recently he had taken me off a medication that made me experience more suicidal ideation, but today he decided that me not taking it (even though he told me I did not have to take it) was the reason I tried to commit suicide. I explained to him I did not like the way that the medicine made me feel, that being on it made me feel worse, etc etc. He interrupted me and said something along the lines of "Well, when you stopped taking it you got worse". I tried to explain that the medicine made me feel worse, but apparently he is such a great psychiatrist that he knows more than I do about how a medicine makes me feel. I said I was not going to take that medicine, as 1. I was not prescribed it and 2. It made me feel worse. Guess what his response was? To say that he could make me by committing me to a mental hospital. Yep. He threatened committing me to a mental hospital because I advocated for myself. I was really upset at this point and him saying that led me to run out of the room crying. My mom came out to where I was a few minutes later and had me come with her back to his office to talk to him. Once my mom was in the room, his story changed. He denyed ever threatening me and refused to apologize, while at the same time saying that he has the ability to get the courts involved to make me take a medicine THAT IM NOT EVEN PRESCRIBED??? I left this appointment feeling absolutely terrible, second guessing my choice to advocate for myself, and with mistrust of the health system brewing. If he cared at all about his patients he would never act like this. Am I mentally stable? No. But does that mean that the way he talks down to me is okay? I dont think so. I am searching for another psychiatrist, one that actually cares about their patients. I suggest anyone in the Rock Island area to avoid him."
"Dr Sales is amazing to work with, he takes time and listens to any concerns I have. He is very kind and even jokes with me at times. The staff quickly answer calls and questions. Medication refills are quick to call in and arrive same day to my pharmacy. It has been a great experience working with Dr. Sales and his team for several years now."
"I thought Dr. Sales was good, but the staff needs to brush up on their customer service skills. My career is in the service industry, I don't get to sit behind a desk and dictate my daily workload, it's very dynamic. I called several hours in advance to let them know I was stuck at a service call and needed to reschedule my appointment. I barely got out what I needed to say and was promply told I was going to get charged a fee for a "No Show." Just keep in mind that if you're thinking of going here, they think their time is more important than yours and you need them they don't need you. Needless to say they got their last dollar out of me for their "No Show" charge. I'm very happy with my new Doctor, their friendly staff, and virtual appointments."
"Lady on the phone was super rude. Kept grilling me about what Drs id seen and what the reason was that I wanted to go there. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional just don't take new clients if you're going to be like that."
"I truly can't believe this man is licensed in our country to be a psychiatrist. My wife is traumatized from her interactions and experiences with him. I would like to start a petition to discuss the unprofessionalism and lack of conduct and empathy he shows to his clients. His reviews are awful and speak for themselves. This isn't the 1st time I've heard of his lack of concern for his patients. Disappointing."
