SIU School of Art and Design: Subtractive and Additive Maker Laboratory

The SIU School of Art and Design's Subtractive and Additive Maker Laboratory, also known as S.A.M. Lab, is a cutting-edge facility located at 555 Clocktower Drive in Carbondale, Illinois. This innovative lab offers a wide range of equipment and tools for students in the art, architecture, and design programs at SIU.

At S.A.M. Lab, students have access to 3D printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, CNC machining, VR/MR prototyping, Arduino prototyping, plastic granulation, filament extrusion, and other rapid prototyping technologies. The lab is housed in the Pulliam Design Wing room 51, providing a creative and collaborative space for students to explore new ideas and bring their designs to life.
