Dr. Jessica Punzo

Dr. Jessica Punzo is a licensed clinical psychologist located at 1010 Lake Street in Oak Park, Illinois. With a focus on trauma and PTSD, Dr. Punzo completed her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Traumatic Stress at Adler University. She has worked in various settings including corrections, community mental health, and VA hospitals, and is actively involved in national traumatic stress organizations.

Dr. Punzo also has experience working with the LGBTQ community, having served as the former Director of the Anti-Violence Project at the Center on Halsted. She has authored a book chapter on the impact of sexual and gender diversity on women's mental health.

Specializing in evidence-based therapies for trauma such as Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dr. Punzo also has training in maternal mental health through Postpartum Support International. Her therapy approach is straightforward and honest, emphasizing transparency and direct communication with clients to help them achieve their goals.

As a former adjunct faculty member at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Dr. Punzo's clinical and research interests include the impact of trauma on sexuality, the specific needs of bisexual individuals, and the efficacy of trauma therapies within the LGBTQ community.
