"In October 2021, I decided that my depression was no longer going to debilitate me and run my life. Looking back, I cannot believe that I allowed my illness to completely overcome me. The smiles that people saw weren’t real. The laughter was mostly forced. The photos were my sincere effort to confirm the “I’m great!” Vibe that I tried with all of my might to put off. If you would have told me on the date that I called, the date that I had my consult, and the date of my first treatment that in 9-10 short weeks that I’d have a life I felt was worth living, I would have fake smiled and rolled my eyes. I truly did not think it was possible. Flash forward. Today. I have found the joy in my heart that I didn’t believe could exist. My smile is genuine. My laughter is brighter. My eyes have life that even in my photos reflect a life worth living. I can never express the gratitude that I have for the staff at Greenbrook TMS O’Fallon, MO. It is because of them that everything else is possible. Katie, Jess, Kevin and Sophia were the people I looked forward to seeing every single day. They pushed me through the hardest days, gave me hope when I wanted to give up, and challenged me to dust myself off and trust the process. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth every single obstacle. Here’s to the last few days of 2021. I am so excited to finish the year healthy, happy, and ready to renew my old passions. 2022 looks bright- and I am thankful and lucky to see what it has in store."
