Highland Elementary School

"I would never recommend anyone that has a child with special needs to attend this school, they treated my sons autism as if it were a something to joke with. When addressing the administration on mistakes that were being made regarding my sons education the blame was never accepted on their end, we lived 3 houses away from the school about a two minute walk, and they claimed my son missed 18 days of school in a semester and didn’t get notified of this until DFS came to my house, due to his IEP stating he has to stay home when his primary teacher isn’t at school, they had no backup plan in place for that which was weird to me ( while my two older children who’s school is 10 mins away driving missed no days ). They performed an IEP and claimed that we missed the one they scheduled (they never informed us), when I checked they are supposed to schedule with us so that we are all available. This school completely dropped the ball and refused to pick it back up, some of the teachers are great but the administration is horrible, I told them my daughter cried having to talk to DFS alone with their weird questions and they laughed it off. I got my son out that school as fast as I possibly could before more damage could be done."
