"So the shop owner(i assume) gets back from lunch late then doesn't want to even open the door to show me his store. Due in part that I dont have a F.O.I.D CARD he deems it a waste of time to even open the door. What a way to run a business. If you think I disrespect him,I did not. The way he was looking and speaking to me was very belittling and condescending."
"I called to see if a particular ammo is available and i was told yes. I offered to quickly stop by and buy them. I was told no I have to make an appointment because of Covid. I told him I can stop by in a couple of days around 1pm and he said just call me that day. I called but a voicemail said they are currently closed. I get a call back and I asked if they have the same ammo available he said no and he just hung up. Very poor customer service. I won't be contacting or buying anything from this place."
"The miserable elderly man that works in this failed business just stands in the window and yells at people that stop in his parking lot for 12 seconds. Said he was going to knock my teeth out if I stepped on the lot. The EMPTY parking lot - which says a lot about his business. I recommend staying away from this unstable piece of work."
"About a week ago, Gary Maywald, the owner of this shop, sold me a crate of 7.62x54 for $180 out the door. A significant amount less than what every other dealer is selling this caliber/amount for at the time. I drive off and not 15 minutes go by when I had come to a stop and noticed Gary had called me numerous times and had even left a few voicemail messages. As I am looking at my phone, another incoming call. Its Gary! I answer. Gary gives me a spew about how he sold me some defective crate of ammo which is on a recall list blah blah blah. Gary tells me to return to the store so that he can trade off the bad/defective crate of ammo for a good crate. I return to the store only to have Gary take back the crate and once he is in possession of the crate, he hands me the $180 cash I had paid him for crate and states he doesn't have any other crates at the moment. He goes further to state that when I return for the crate of "good/un-recalled" ammo, I may have to pay more, whatever his distributor charges him because the cost of that ammo has been going up at which point I ask to see the so-called "recall letter" on said ammo. Of course, he never produced such letter. Now, call me crazy, but it seems to me that Gary looked up the ammo cost for the crates and realized he had given me too good of a deal, therefore, this leading him to calling me numerous times at my cell phone, leaving voice messages stating he will TRADE off bad crate of ammo for a crate of good ammo and once I return, swindling me out of the crate I had already purchased from him with a man to man hand shake at the end of our deal to finalize. I asked if he'd honor the cost at which he had sold me the "recalled ammo" at but to no avail. Excuse after lame excuse. Needless to say, I will not be returning for another crate of ammo or anything else for that matter. This type of shady dealing is why so many new folks looking to get into the gun hobby/"sport" look at the gun community in such a bad way at times. This fellow had a much larger shop on the upstairs floor of where his place of business is now. He seems to be on a downward moving trend. I'm sure that is where this Mr Maywald's business is headed, on a downward spiral so long as he continues to do this type of shady dealing."
"Don't go here! The guy was a total jerk. I went in to see if he had any ammunition I was looking for and his response was "nope, day late; dollar short." When I asked if or when he expects more, his response was "c'mon, ask me a real question. Even if I had it, I wouldn't sell it to you. I only sell to previous customers. Just because other places are out, doesn't mean you could use me for ammo. You can leave now." Just a real miserable, angry old man. I wouldn't send ANYBODY his way. Let this hole-in-the-wall business fail. He gives "gun people" a bad name."
