"FCRT is absolutely amazing. I have to drive from Canton to East Peoria 5 days a week to get my medicine, its 60 miles round trip. My car broke down about a month ago and I wasn't able to get to my medicine. This is a medication I need to take everyday. My husband works 1st shift so I wasn't able to have him take me since the Dr office is closed by the time he gets home from work. The first thing I thought to do was call my insurance since they offer non-emergency medical transportation to and from Dr appointments. So i called my insurance and they set up medical transportation for me. A cab company was to come pick me up everyday and take me to my appointment then bring me home. Well they just wouldn't show up. Everyday I'd get up and get ready, get my children ready(my 5yr old daughter and 9yr old son) and wait for my rides to pick me up, but they never did. I would call my insurance constantly and they would just apologize and thats pretty much it. What it came down to, was my insurance couldnt get a anyone to accept my trip and drive all the way to Canton from Peoria to pick me up, then drive me to East Peoria for my appointment, then all they way back to Canton to drop me off at home. Everyday my insurance would send my trip out as avaliable to Uber and Lyft, and it would get canceled everytime bc no one would pick up my trip. Again this is a medication i need to take everyday. I was so stressed out, I didnt know what to do. I called taxi companies asking for their round trip prices and all of them said it would be atleast $200. Thats insane. So my last attempt was googling medical transportation in Fulton County, and FCRT came up. I called them up and they scheduled my transportation for a few times a week. They are here to pick me up and my children up every time, on time, and I only pay a total of $28 everytime they pick me up. We get transported in a van or a mini bus, vehicles are always clean, and I've had 3 different drivers so far, all of them are polite, caring, professional, safe drivers that are easy to talk to and have a conversation with. My children and I feel safe and welcomed everytime. I am extremely grateful for Fulton County Rural Transportation. I cant say enough great things about them. Thank You."
