"Although a competent firm, they charge ENTIRELY too much for their services. We first used them for a business return that needed an expert. Beverly estimated it would be 5k. I believe in discovery but, to the tune of over 16K!!! We just figured it was normal. Now to do a personal return, no itemizing with maybe a couple of extra forms it was $725! They have all our information, nothing had changed and it was $150 more than the last 2 years. (which was too much). A few updating of totals in their system and our taxes are done. I considered filing a complaint, but learned fees are conveniently not regulated by the state!"

"This CPA gouges people, plain and simple! I used this firm to prepare my 2012 tax return and my 2013 return but would never use them again or recommend them to anyone. I thought the fee for last year's return was high at $834 but chalked it up to being a new client and having a rental property but I provided all of the figures for income/expenses to them (not a shoebox full of receipts). Anyway, this year they filed an extension for me in April and charged me $288 for that part of the return. Then in October when she had completed my return, I got hit with a bill for $1,677! I nearly had a heart attack. I called the CPA to find out if there was a mistake and she said no, they were just very thorough and it had taken more time this year. Are you kidding me? after talking to numerous friends, relatives, and acquaintances who used CPAs to do their returns I found that no one, even people with much more complex tax situations than mine paid even $1,000, much less almost $2,000! When I first called, she agreed to knock off $100 which was nothing. I wrote a long email with this information asking Beverly to reduce the bill to a more fair amount and she refused--said they felt their fees were fair! Then when I asked her for a breakdown of the charges she refused to provide that as well, saying they had already explained the fees which is BS. The staff CPA who prepared my return would only tell that they are extremely thorough and use a system of checks and balances, blah, blah, blah. When I asked her how it took 13 hours to prepare my return she wouldn't give me an answer. They allowed me to pay 50% of the bill but wouldn't file my return until I paid the balance.Talk about adding insult to injury! So they had me over a barrel--if i wanted my return to get filed, I had to pay the entire highway robbery charges. I paid the fee and asked her to let me know when it had been filed. Here's the richest part---they are so frickin' thorough that when the e-filed my return it was immediately kicked back by the IRS. They fixed they issue,re-filed it and it was accepted but that doesn't say much about those checks and balances I paid through the nose for. Don't use this CPA unless you want to pay more than twice as much as you have to."
