"In April 2022, I provided Mr. Pettway with all necessary tax documents (for straight filing). Mr. Pettway rarely made a phone call. When questioned, he stated he was “working on it and would return my call”. I called him on 10/19, as the IRS extension deadline was 10/22. He stated he “needed” the document reflecting expenses covered (resulting from home damage due to the 2020 freeze). I informed him, via email, that my Adjuster would send the document the following week (IRS filing deadline was 10/22/2022). Mr. Pettway telephoned me 10/22 to inquire of status of the requested document. Again, he stated that he needed the document. I reminded him that he gave me 2 business days and the earliest receipt was next week. Mr. Pettway then dismissed the urgency of the document, stating he didn’t really need it. Therefore, I question if the outcome (owing IRS $440.00) was accurate. Mr. Pettway charged me FULL price ($550.00 - straight filing), as if he had provided me with adequate service. I shared my disagreement regarding the price and the service. He yet proceeded to charge me $550.00. He later informed me that he was giving me a $100.00 (via Zelle) discount, as his "goal is to ensure all customers are satisfied". Additionally, per an email (2/21/22) from Mr. Pettway, returning customers would receive a 15% discount. To date, I have not received the $100.00 or the 15% discount. In summary, my business interaction with Mr. Pettway resulted in (1) an overwhelming sense of disrespect (2) the great uncertainty around the filing outcome (owing $440.00) and (3) being invoiced for the full amount of $550.00, while he knowingly provided substandard service (4) not honoring his word of giving 15% off or the $100.00 discount. On 11/8/22, the above was sent to Mr. Pettway via email. To date (2/2/23), I have not received a response. Linda D Green"
