"Worked with Dawn since 2018, had a good start but a few years later she was impossible to get a hold of. For over two years now the operations manager states "we are playing catch up." This has cost my business money (late fees she said she would reimburse and has not), no response from Dawn in over 6 months via Liscio, email, or phone. Today after meeting with my new accountant I discovered the bad advice she gave me re: payroll that cost me big $$$. Do not recommend working with Sabo."

"My husband and I convinced she would be extra communicative when we hired her to do our first married joint tax filing. Empty promises and constant follow up. I think we hired her in December or January and she didn't make the April deadline and filed an extension. All summer we would check in to see how things were going and were constantly promised a response when Dawn was "back from vacation". We never received responses from Dawn and many of our questions went unanswered. Our taxes were eventually filed and we were immediately charged for the balance of Sabo's services and any questions that we sent after about our tax filing were unanswered! They took our money and end all communication. We ended up owing money on our taxes and had to pay a penalty because our account was not current on April 15 (because it was not filed on time). We will be looking for a new accountant."

"I do NOT recommend Sabo Accounting. Beware! An audit of my taxes by another firm found that Dawn Sabo made an error on my business tax return that cost me an additional $4,000. After following up repeatedly and getting nowhere, she said she didn't have the staff to fix it and she didn't agree "at this time". I understand that times are tough with staffing, but not standing by your work, especially at the rate I was charged, is unfair. She says she doesn't agree with the error, but won't provide any reasoning when I've listed the exact issue and incorrect line items on the tax form. I was also told my books were reconciled and charged for that work, but later found out several things were left undone. Fortunately, she refunded the cost, but there are problems with staffing management if things are said to be done that are not. You can't trust the team and have to double check the work. In addition, I have had a very difficult time getting in touch with the firm over the years. Emails and Liscio messages go ignored, so I have to call the office several times to ask the receptionist to follow up with Dawn (can't leave a message because the mailbox is full)."
