"Be aware, this company will charge you a service fee for their incompetency of failing reduce your property tax. I've been with them for several years but this year is the first time they charge me with this service fee and told me that this is in the service agreement. I don't know when they updated their service agreement but I've never recall this fee when I signed up with their service years ago. And the lady who answer the phone has this kind of attitude that it is your fault and there is nothing they could do to help you with."

"What comes to your mind when you think of Novotny? You would not be wrong if you think they do property value protest on behalf of their client and get paid if they save the client's property tax. But they also have a deceptive practice for homeowners who have a capped account. A capped account is when the property' appraised value increase is capped due to homestead status. This is the case for my property's appraised value. I contracted Novotny to protest to reduce the appraised value. They failed to do that and only reduced the market value of my property slightly. This results in no property tax savings for me at all. But now they ask me to pay for the reduced market value of the property because it's in the agreement I signed. When I read the agreement more carefully, I did see the point about capped account. But I think this is a very deceptive practice. As the saying goes, fool me once, shame on you. I immediately requested them to cancel my account. If you have a capped account, please stay away from this company."
