"If I could give zero stars I would. This review is a few years late but something just reminded me I should write a review before tax season starts. I was referred to them by a family member who has a family business even though I only needed him for my individual taxes. I think they were so busy with all the big business taxes that my individual taxes got thrown to the wayside. I would’ve done them myself but that year they seemed a little more complicated than normal. I had just moved from NYC. I had to file NYC taxes along with NJ taxes. I was also an independent contractor for part of the year and had just started my own self-employed 401k. I had dropped of my paperwork early (end of Jan/beginning of Feb). I never heard from them again. I contacted them. They sent me an attachment of taxes. According to them, I owed an upwards of $4000. It didn’t seem right to me. I did my taxes on TurboTax and I was actually supposed to get money back. I contacted them and let them know where they had made mistakes. They had messed up my NY and NJ state income taxes. They also made mistakes on my self-employed 401k. They are SUPPOSED to be the tax experts. Not turbotax and definitely not me. Once they corrected their mistakes I was owed money back from the government. I would’ve filed the taxes myself but they had not given me back any of my tax paperwork that I had given them until I went back in to sign off on the taxes. Mind you after so many mistakes, you think in good faith they would’ve given me a significant discount or even done them for free. No...they expected me to pay for the full amount. $800. I tried to explain why I didn’t think I should pay them that much (bc I pretty much did my taxes myself). The owner threw a fit and basically was trying to run me out of the office. Only because this person was referred to me by a family member did I smooth things over and they at the end discounts me $100. So I still paid $700 when I could’ve done it myself on turbotax. I would never recommend this place to anyone. They don’t know what they are doing. Find someone else or use turbotax and do them yourself."
