"I used to see my therapist at this office and she subsequently moved to her own location. Yesterday I called with the hopes of finding a therapist for my young son. I gave them our insurance information. Today I was called by the office and was told that his insurance keeps coming back invalid and was told to call insurance. BCBSIL agents checked and sifted through our policy and confirmed that the insurance / policy was indeed valid. I was put on hold as they attempted twice to contact the Center for Psch to confirm coverage. The second call made by BCBSIL, the agent was told there wasn’t a patient by that name. Of course he isn’t a patient yet because CFP won’t process him without the insurance verification. That was why BCBSIL was calling. I contacted CFP and to let them know why BCBSIL was trying to contact them. Well. CFP told me to have my BCBSIL call back. Something is telling me that this is not the place for us. If you are working in a place of healing, or representing it, attitudes should reflect that by all employees especially the frontline employees. We only wanted help. The last 24 hrs have been exhausting for our family as well as the last month ( two deaths in the family). I don’t feel comfortable dealing with CFP. I WILL BE LOOKING ELSEWHERE"
"The Therapist I'm working with Mr . Roger's is by far the best Therapist. His, kindness, compassion, commitment, and techniques for dealing with stress and ptsd are the kindest and most professional approach I've experienced. I've been in therapy longer than I would like to admit. For the first time in A long time, I have total confidence that we will accomplish the goals we set forth. It's like having A friend and top notch professional helping you heal. I highly recommend him."
"No stars if I could. Emily Gordon forced me to make a commitment to her availability, with a predetermined sliding scale fee, that she AGREED UPON. I indicated to her that I am in a tough spot with my job, and that committing to her availability would be difficult for me, but I would try. Doing so resulted in hundreds of lost weekly income for me, however I was able to make an appointment, as I am need of a therapist as a requirement for my professional advancement. Afterwards, Emily went back on her word about the agreement, and proposed terms that were less than favorable for me. I asked her why such a change was made, and she initially refused to share. I emailed her twice over a 72 hour period asking for an explanation, as I was experiencing lost wages, as well as lost opportunities with other therapists. I heard nothing in return from her. Not even an indication that she had canceled my appointment (which her office makes very clear they will charge you if not appropriately canceled). In the end, I had to get the business manager involved. I then, finally, received a call back from Emily Gordon, where she indicated that I had no real reason for needing an explanation, and was just trying to pick a fight with her. As a therapist, I wonder how it was hard for her to understand how her behavior, lack of professionalism, and ERROR would be frustrating for a patient. I have been seeing therapists for almost eight years now. Never once has anything like this happened. The lack of professionalism is astounding. Read this post. Read the others. There are better therapists and better offices out there. Best of luck to you all in your therapeutic journey."
"Went here because my gp recommended. First upon calling to schedule the appointment the receptionist couldn't schedule anything she told me someone would contact me. Which just ended up turning into a game of phone tag. Then I'm filling out the paper work and I cannot stand when doctors charge for missed appointments. But since I didn't plan on missing any appointments I moved along. But then the last page of their 30 minutes of paperwork they make you fill out is for your credit card information where they have you sign giving them permission to charge the card whenever they please. When I wasn't ok I with that I was basically told I couldn't be a patient here. I wouldn't recomend this place to anyone."
"The only reason this is getting two stars and not one is due to the friendly office staff. Jim Phelan refused to provide counseling until my Bipolar Disorder was addressed adequately. He said when it was me and my partner would then be free to make another appointment with him. He basically blamed me for being to sick to treat...at least that's how it seemed. He also refused to give any referrals."
