"He was awful. He acted like he didn’t understand anything I was saying. I told him my meds weren’t working and he just sarcastically said ‘ok we won’t give you any meds.’ He treated me like a criminal. Do yourself a favor and find someone else, and NEVER EVER send your kids to him."

"i’ve gone to dr mendoza probably since 2018 or 2019 and he’s not the greatest but he gets the job done. i’m medicated for my bpd, adhd, and insomnia and i’ve had only a few problems when it comes to the medication and getting it filled. however he lowkey fat shames me every time i step on the scale, and if i lose any weight he gets overly excited and if i gain weight he asks me if i’m doing any exercise, and as someone who is recovering from an eating disorder i don’t feel like it’s very professional to comment on my weight at all. he also doesn’t really listen to me much and compared to the psychiatrist i had in the pavilion, he doesn’t at all explain the medications he prescribes to me, he just gives them to me and expects me to take them right then and there. i always do my research before taking my meds to make sure he prescribed something that matches up with my problem and to make sure i weigh the pros and cons of the side affects. i wish he was more in depth with what he gives you and i wish he listened to what you had to say more, rather than just mumbling at his computer."

"My daughter has been seeing Dr. Mendoza for 3 years. He has been AMAZING with her necessary medications and adjustments when symptoms change. We have never had a problem with making emergency appointments and he has monitored her very closely while restabilizing with any medication changes. He listens to what we both have to say and pays attention to the details. We have had two instances of severely negative side effects with the medication he prescribed for her specific needs. I was able to contact the office and immediately get my daughter seen and reevaluated. My daughter's needs have always been his priority, even in the time of crisis. My daughter has seen several different psychiatrists and even she prefers Dr. Mendoza over all the others."

"My son saw Dr Mendoza today, and we had a terrific experience! Dr. Mendoza spoke with my son as well as me, and paid attention to what both of us had to say. I could tell he really seemed to care about my son. I would recommend him! Especially if you know your child’s condition, and realize that the medication does make a difference. I’ve seen my child with and without meds, we’ve tried all the natural remedies, and medication works for us! I am looking forward to our next appointment with Dr. Mendoza!"

"Dr. Mendoza saw my 2 sons when we first moved to Amarillo. It was a horrible experience. The front desk staff was rude, impatient, and truthfully incompetent. Dr. Mendoza himself is a horror to work with. He will put your children on medication meant for adults and then not monitor them. He won't listen to your concerns as a parent. When I called his office to complain that the medicines he had put my son on for ADD and for anxiety were basically making him into a zombie, I was told to give it another month "to kick in". My son was already missing school because he couldn't function! I quickly found a better doctor for my boys. This was 10 years ago and I am discouraged to see that Dr. Mendoza is still a lousy doctor. Think twice before choosing him."
