"I did not think about reading these reviews until now. My appt (that I’ve been waiting 2+ mos for) was cancelled by their staff because I did not confirm my appt when they supposedly called me. But I never got any missed calls or messages!!! (Strangely enough, they have been able to reach me prior because I get their mail & I was able to get phone calls all last week without problems) I showed up 30 min early to my intake today (with my papers filled out & ready to go), only to be scolded by front admin staff, Allison, that it’s my fault they cancelled my appt because I did not confirm it in advance. The next date to be rescheduled is 3 months from today. Good luck getting your meds… Totally rude & unprofessional office. I wouldn’t be a patient here if my life depended on it. I will file a complaint with patient admin & advocate for TriCare to NOT refer patients here. ***If you are active duty at Scott AFB & are being referred here, ask your PCM to refer you to prescriber at another MTF because apparently, there is no one else available in southern Illinois & it’s not worth your time to wait for this ridiculousness***"
"Dr Chalfant added a medication that helped. But I wonder if he is only interested in making money. I had a telephonic appointment due to the Covid pandemic. The office called two minutes ahead of time but I missed the call. I returned the call literally within 2 minutes and was told that I would have to reschedule as the doctor had moved on to the next client. At the next appointment I addressed the issue with the doctor and he told me that he wasn't going to discuss it with me and that I could find another doctor if I didn't like it. I think this is unreasonable and shows a lack of respect. Be prepared because they routinely call ahead of the scheduled appointment time and they will move on if you don't answer when they call."
"This review is to be hopefully helpful to not only new, current, and future patients but also the office in general too. On the day before your appointment proactively call the office because they will show you no mercy in canceling your appointment if you don't respond to their phone call. For some reason my brain decided not to make this connection. Anyhow just calling proactively solves the issue and makes it so you don't have to worry about missing the phone call from the office and have to wait an additional 2+ months for another appointment. This goes for the office too. I know your process seems simple but I can't recall many offices that operate that if you don't call back the day before then your appointment gets canceled. I think it would be helpful to say "You don't have to wait to get a call from us. Just call us the day before and tell us you'd still like your appointment for the next day." Could save you a lot of work calling each person if your patients proactively call you"
"I was a client here at the Psychiatric Services of Southern Illinois from 2017 to 2019. I started seeing Ms. Kelsey Quade and Dr. Jeffrey Chalfant during my time here. I have been seen at two other locations in another state and felt that I received mediocre treatment at those locations. Needless to say I felt that those locations I worsened rather than improved while seeking treatment there. Upon moving to Belleville, IL and becoming a client at Psychiatric Services, I started to have noticeable and significant improvement in my mental and physical health after a couple months; A first for me. Dr. Chalfant does a excellent job at listening to the needs and concerns of the client and sees you faster than the average Dr. would, in my experience. I came to trust him completely guiding my care plan. As for therapy, I would highly recommend Ms. Kelsey Quade. She is a excellent listener and life coach who excels at making you think outside the box, even when at times its difficult to do so during treatment. The reception staff was excellent from my experience. I never had any issues and they always promptly got back to me either same day or next day if I needed scheduling or to pass information to the Dr. Unfortunately I had to move to another state, and am sad to lose such excellent support from the Dr. Chalfant, Ms. Quade, and the staff. To anyone needing their services or considering their services, I would highly recommend giving them your time to address your health care needs."
"The office staff has always been very caring and compassionate. Scheduling is all most always on time. You don't have to sit and wait very long. Dr. Chalfant is very efficient and very caring. It's easy to be comfortable in the office. Thank you for all you do for me."
