"I had an appointment made months in advance today at 2 pm. Called ahead to let them know I was running late due to a work situation and traffic. Said they hold appointments till 15 mins later. Was on phone with call service till I walked in at 2:17. The call service person was polite and trying to help by attempting to call them. She said repeatedly she couldn’t get in touch with them. When I walked in the two receptionist were engaged in social conversation and helping no one. I spoke with a receptionist who was seated in an unprofessional manner in a wrinkled T-shirt who was unprofessional and impolite in her tone and approach. She said we’d have to reschedule. Ridiculous. I said no worries I could wait today. I then said ok when can I come back. They had a ton of openings this week but none at a time that my job could allow. I again offered to wait. She said no. I’ll pass on a company that is this poor at customer service with a new patient who literally called to let them know she was running late due to a work situation and was 2 mins past the time they hold appointments. Patient care should include empathy, professionalism, and the understanding that the roles we have can include emergency situations."
"My adult daughter has been severely ill for several days. Her PC is Dr Vedala who of course ordered COVID test which came back negative for both rapid and PCR. She is still very ill today even after visiting the ER last night and when she called the Sterling Ridge location to get an appointment they flat out refused because her symptoms are "to COVID like" even though her file shows negative tests. Their solution is to send her to ER again. This makes no sense to me to overwhelm the ER even further when you have a group of Drs that should be treating everything else. Good luck to anyone trying to get an appointment to been seen in person, they won't see anyone right now."
"I have a physical scheduled with Dr Vaughn for next week. She asked me to come in a week before to get blood drawn. I booked the appt with the receptionist to have it drawn today at 8. I arrived at 7:50 today and waited until 8:30 to get called back. No big deal. But when I went to get my blood drawn, there were no orders. I was then asked to go back to waiting room and wait for the Dr to put them in. I waited until 8:55 and finally got up to ask what is taking so long. Dr Vaughn was then informed of no orders and she went to her computer to put them in. As if 9:10, I was still waiting and decided to leave. There never an apology from any of the staff. They only said “that I should have called to make sure they were ordered”. They put the blame on me who had an appointment. Don’t ever go there. Terrible staff and no empathy for their screw up."
"I've seen Dr. Vedela for years now and, while I love her, I do not love my experiences with the staff and her medical assistant since having joined Memorial Hermann. I'll call and NEVER get to speak to anyone- just the answering machine. According to the recorded message, calls are supposed to be returned withing 24-48 hours, but often they aren't returned at all. Several times, I've had to forgo speaking with the medical assistant and just make an appointment. Apparently, this is how Memorial Hermann prefers to handle patient care. It's disheartening."
"No compassion and rude staff. Called office WELL before my appointment because I had trouble finding office, I was very close. The receptionist was nice and guided me by phone to their office. I walked in 5 minutes past my appt time. I signed in and waited 20 minutes before they called me up, they said that because I was 5 minutes late, that the Dr has refused to see me. I explained that I was on the phone with them having trouble finding office, the receptionist laughed and said that the Dr will not see me. Why didn't they tell me this when they directed me there by phone? Why didn't they tell me before my 20 minute wait in their waiting room? I was telling my neighbor about the bad experience there, and she said it sounded very similar to an experience she had. We then discovered she had a similar problem with Dr Hunter about a year ago. She of course fired Dr Hunter, and we will be doing the same. I had waited months for Dr Hunter to see me, with a medical concern and this is how she treats clients. My neighbor said Dr Hunter was a very mediocre dr, and is a very conventional Dr. - Don't let the D. O. title fool you, she is just a typical MD who treats symptoms, you're in and out and that's it."
