"I switched to Dr. Munoz only because my previous gynecologist became out of network. I found Dr. Munoz based on the five-star reviews. Little did I expect that I would be thoroughly disappointed. I went to her for my yearly exam. After which I got three bills. I probably wouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars if I'd gone to my out-of-network gynecologist for the yearly exam. 1. The first bill was for HPV testing, which is not covered as preventive care and which I was not aware of until I made several phone calls asking what the bill was for. Apparently, it's their practice to order HPV testing together with pap smear. (Compare with my previous gynecologist, who ordered HPV testing for me last year, after seeing abnormal cells on pap smear and obtaining my informed consent. Both tests came back negative.) 2. During the yearly exam, she said she felt something hard in my ovaries(?). I told her I never had this problem before. She said it might be a new development or my previous gynecologist might have missed it. So I was subject to an ultrasonic exam, and nothing abnormal was found. And there came the second bill. (There seems to be a tendency to over-order tests.) 3. When she ordered mammogram for me, I informed her that I have dense breast tissue so my previous gynecologist has always ordered mammogram and ABUS together so both are preventive and I can get both exams done in one trip to the hospital. She didn't listen to me. She insisted ordering only mammogram and said ABUS could be ordered later if necessary. Although I did eventually get another doctor from their office to put in the order for ABUS, that was confusing for the radiologist, who thought the ABUS was diagnostic and not preventive. So the third bill was also attributable to Dr. Munoz, at partially. I wanted to seek advice regarding spotting, but all I got was something like "aging sucks." So just the three bills and a lot of time trying to figure out why I got them by doing the yearly exam."
