"I wouldn't even be generous enough to give this sad excuse for a doctor 1 star but I can't put 0. I had the worst experience with him in my first pregnancy visit with him. It was my first pregnancy which was unplanned and I was under a lot of emotional distress. He noted this in my evaluation sheet that they have you fill out about how you're feeling. He asked about the dad who was not around. He continued to tell me that I'm not ready to be a mother and that I shouldn't be messing around in the father's gene pool as one of his prior children had something wrong with them that I was not sure the cause was. I was already beyond upset at this point. He then proceeded to tell me I should go to the hope clinic in granite city... which is an abortion clinic. He kept pushing it on me and I was bawling my eyes out at this point. That thought NEVER crossed my mind. I made it clear that was not even an idea for me but he was dead set that I do it. POS!! Horrible bedside manners and no empathy whatsoever. I immediately changed doctors after that. No one should have to go through an experience like that!! Especially someone who is going through a lot emotionally and it was their first pregnancy appointment ever!"
"This office should be closed. My experience- Lost lab work multiple times. Dr made jokes about women not being married and having 'baby daddies.' Didn't believe I was married until I brought my husband with. Made jokes/rude comments about my weight gain at EVERY prenatal visit. And the worst? When I complained to the nurse about this, the office manager checked my FACEBOOK, found out I complained about them on my personal feed, and dropped me as a patient. Leaving me without any Dr at 28 weeks. I will be filing a complaint with the state. Do NOT go to this Dr!"
"I went to Dr. Kisabeth when my normal OB, Carrie Evans, had to cancel our appointment due to the passing of her mother. I agreed because I really wanted to get my nexplanon implant removed. I had been bleeding lightly for over four months straight and I wanted it out. Not only did the appointment take an hour and a half (and made me late for work), he refused to take the implant out because “it’s already paid for” and instead put me on generic birth control pills on top of the nexplanon. Great news! The bleeding stopped! Horrible news! My antidepressants stopped working because of it. I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t eat, I lacked the motivation needed for my college classes, and I was lashing out at everyone while also being convinced that I was a waste of space and not worthy of love. I was ready to take the implant out myself with my xacto knife and my high pain tolerance. When I finally saw Carrie Evans again after a year on nexplanon, she explained to me that he should have taken it out when I requested it and that the pill was not the right way to treat my bleeding. She told me that my body thought it was going through menopause. She removed the implant that same day and I have been on he generic pill ever since (about 2.5 years). TL;DR: if you want a doctor who won’t listen to you and thinks he’s god because of his medical degree, go see Dr. Kisabeth. He’ll put you through hell."
"I normally see one of the nurse practitioners at Dr. Kisabeth's office, but I had a medical emergency that required surgery, so I had the pleasure of meeting this misogynist. I have a history of uterine fibroids and an abnormally large uterus because of that. I started to bleed out in the beginning of June as a result of the baseball sized masses in my uterus. I repeatedly told Dr. Kisabeth that I wanted my uterus out because this condition was life threatening. My husband and I discussed it and both agreed that my quality of life was extremely poor. I also was not able to have a viable pregnancy the last time around and it resulted in my child being stillborn at 35 5 weeks. He constantly told me that I shouldn't be making rash decisions and there were other options (all which I had tried over the course of the previous year with no positive result). He never did anymore scans of my uterus and was just going off of an ultrasound I had one year prior. He temporarily got the bleeding to stop and had me sent home. Four days later, I was readmitted with the same issue and my hemoglobin was now dangerously low. He stated he was going to do an ablation (which I told him would not work due to my large, anterior uterus). He tried anyway. He was unsuccessful. When he told me this as I was coming out of anaesthesia, I began to cry. He then told me, "crying isn't going to help anything." After that point, I was sent over to St. Mary's and they actually gave me the care I deserved and listened to me."
"I saw Dr. Kisabeth this week for the first time. I have a genetic disease and made it clear that, after years of consideration, I have decided not to have children. I don't want to pass the genetic disease on. Dr. Kisabeth refused to treat me with any form of permanent contraceptive. He said that I shouldn't make any "rash decisions" based on what is "convenient" for me. Choosing not to have children has been a long and devastating process for me. He also brushed off my verified history of ovarian cysts as "probably some constipation" even though I told him I've never had trouble with constipation, and the pain from the cysts bursting every few months was the worst stabbing pain I've ever felt. He was very condescending and ignorant of my condition, with no intention of educating himself on it. Very unprofessional and upsetting."
