Camacho Watch Repair

"~ preface: if I can give more than 5 stars I would! = = ~ after doing much research and after my VA appoint while I was in El Paso, I traveled to Camacho Watch Repair, to have a battery replacement and inspection of my Bulova Lunar. ~ Camacho Watch Repair is on the 9th floor of the Coronado Building on Mesa Street. ~ upon arrival to the 9th floor, you turn left from the lift and it'll be right in front of you as you approach. ~ The door was open, however, I had (some difficulty) in entering, so I knocked and from that moment, he immediately made my visit an - "extraordinary experience" ~ I presented my Bulova Lunar, stating that I needed a battery replacement, he took the watch in his hands, adjusting his loops and asked if I could wait for it to be ready. ~ I asked if I could just leave it and if I could come back later in the month, when I had the next VA appoint and I was in El Paso once again. ~ he stated that it wouldn't take long and I asked how long, he stated about 20 minutes along with the total of his very reasonable price for the work. ~ I agreed and within (what felt like seconds) not minutes, the watch was running perfectly once again. ~ this is probably why it seemed like seconds . . . ~ during the battery install and inspection of the timepiece, he asked questions about my Bulova Lunar and how he loved the look of the watch and the Apollo 15 history behind the vintage timepiece. ~ I was impressed, Mr Camacho knows his watches, watch history and I could tell that he is a Master craftsman of his chosen career. ~ Mr Camacho regaled me with his family's history of -"learning watch repair craft though the years" - and I was (even) more impressed on how dedicated he was to his craft. ~ Mr Camacho asked me how I came about to find his shop and I explained, that I did extensive research and that his name and shop had the highest ratings that I have seen, so I came to his shop. I then mentioned that his masterful reputation was very accurate and that I was impressed with his shop and his horological knowledge and that I made the correct choice in coming to his shop. ~ but what impressed me more was the very fact that he was - "very humble" - and he didn't let that reputation - "get to his head". ~ Mr Camacho is very professional, very courteous and ~ "a very skilled Master craftsman" ~ words that fit Mr Camacho perfectly - like a glove. ~ before I knew it, the battery install and inspection was completed! ~ and as I took out my card to pay for his services, he simply stated with a smile - "its on me" ~ I was in shock and this simple kind gesture almost brought tears to my eyes. ~ however, it was this comment/statement that he made that left a mark and made me an - "instant customer for life" - (and I am paraphrasing here): ~ "from the watch that is just worth a dollar, to a diamond encrusted Rolex worth tens of thousands, its the inner workings of the watch that is important and learning from that over the years, that no matter whats on the outside, I treat (everyone) equally and with respect as a valued customer" ~ WOW! ~ JUST WOW! ~ If you made it this far in this review, there is - "one more thing I must add" ~ remember in the begining, that I had some difficulty upon entering the shop? - that's because I am wheelchair bound and the couch at the entryway was slightly blocking the way in. ~ Mr Camacho went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable, was treated fairly and with respect throughout. ~ his actions were - "true" - and not faked, as in most places I have been too and have experienced. ~ when you come to this establishment, expect respect, 1st Class Treatment, and an individual who loves his craft and is very knowledgeable (yet) very honourable and is the - "REAL DEAL" ~ YOU just can't find - "quality customer service" - like this anymore! or anywhere else to be honest! ~ I shan't take my watches anywhere else (nor) have anyone else (even) touch them . . . he's THAT GOOD! ~ HIGHLY TRUSTWORTHY, SKILLED AND RECOMMENDED!"

"Mr. Camacho is a legendary watch maker/ repair gentleman. His talent is the result of generations of his Father as well as Grandfather passing it along. He repaired my 1972 Rolex Oyster Perpetual date just piece. I hadn’t been able to wear it since my grandfather left it to me in 2008. It does not use batteries so I was worried the timepiece would no longer be accurate. It was an amazing moment when he returned it to me."

"Took 4 watches in for new batteries. He turned them around in 24 hours! I’ve taken them to a jewelry store before and they have to ship it out and it takes weeks. $120 total, which seemed reasonable, but I didn’t price shop. Very sweet, nice man. Highly recommend."
