Reviews of Coconut Cove RV Resort by Rjourney
"The campground seems fairly new, has a lot of new cabins and permanent campers. The pond and swim Area is very nice. Weekenders are put down in the lower portion. We stayed on a Mon-Wednesday and We were the only ones in entire lower portion at the furthest point, closest to the River. BEWARE The biggest FYI is there is a train track about 100 feet the sites. The track is an active line. The trains run 2x per hour but seemed to stop between 9pm- 2am then they are back at it. Not only do the run loud but they blow the horn as they pass everytime all hours of the day & night. I actually called hotels For availability. Overall the campground itself is Nice .. but the train was definitely a negative for us."
"While this park is well maintained with plenty for the entire family to do, you can’t go wrong with the exceptional customer service from the general manager Kolby. Yes the park has trains that come by regularly but if you know that ahead of time, it’s actually fun to watch them and you just use white noise machine or ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. The view is awesome to see the trains, the park and the Mississippi River (you can even see tugs and barges coming in and out of the Lock and Dam #11)! Convenient to the adorable town of Dubuque and just about everything you could possibly need. The park was safe and even had a restaurant and live music on the summer weekends. Sites are level, no Wi-Fi at the park but the ATT signal was strong. We don’t recommend the laundry facilities here though… we opted for the nice clean laundromats in town instead. The incredible customer support we received from Kolby though makes us recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great and comfortable place to stay."
"This is a great place if you’re looking to have a fun, lazy, weekend getaway! Food and drinks were very good as well! We rented a glamping pod for the weekend, and although it was a super neat little cabin, I feel like the price is a pretty high considering you have to bring ALL of you own stuff including bedding. For $250 a night (almost $500 for the whole weekend) I feel like there should at least be a made bed already set up for you. Overall, I would definitely come back and stay again for the weekend, as long as prices don’t go up!"
"A little expensive in my opinion but overall a great stay over a long weekend. Some things seemed like they were nickel and dimed, probably an RJourney thing. Good food and drinks at the clubhouse and pool/beach bars. Clean bathrooms and bathhouse but the showers didnt have hot water. Great location, quiet and secluded minus the trains. We knew there were gonna be trains coming through before we booked, some blare their horns more than others but it was actually easier to ignore than some of the reviews made it seem!"
"All in all a great place, food and drinks were really good. It's been updated and relatively clean except public restrooms near the pool. Then there are the trains... If you like trains all day and night blowing the horn and shaking your RV pick the spots on the outside edge of the lake. We were able to move our RV to other side which was better but could occasionally hear the rain horn at night. Despite this we enjoyed the campground and the staff was great too. Don't forget to have a "train shot"!"
