"It pains me to write a bad review for any place, but here we go: I'm a college student, and depend on my computer heavily since I take programming classes. A few weeks ago, my laptop suddenly malfunctioned and I ended up taking it to this Geek Squad in Sharpstown. They took my laptop in, and after a few stressful days in school without a computer, they called and told me that they couldn't fix it. I was pretty much under a time limit since I had programming assignments due soon, so I abruptly left my university in the middle of a study session and rushed over to Geek Squad to get my laptop, since I needed to scramble to find someplace that could fix it. They gave me my computer and told me to head over to the Sugar Land location since they had the part that my computer needed. After driving all the way to Sugar Land from Sharpstown, I handed them my laptop only to discover that the power button was jammed, and the computer couldn't turn on. They refused to take my laptop and told me to go all the way back to Sharpstown since it happened while it was there. After driving back to Sharpstown, this is where the chaos began. My biggest frustration was the Geek Squad manager on duty that night. When I first came to pick up my laptop, he seemed nice, and even told me how to get a refund for the money I initially paid when I dropped off my laptop. When I arrived from Sugar Land and questioned him as to why the power button was messed up, however, he tried to deny that it happened while they had it, implying that it was somehow my fault, and he repeatedly uttered the line, "It was fine when I inspected it." He started talking amongst his coworkers, basically insinuating to them that I was lying, after which I ended up getting into it with him. He gave me an attitude and told me "you don't have to raise your voice" which frustrated me since it's what any average person would do if they were accused of something as ridiculous as lying about things like this. During our interaction, he repeatedly tried to distance himself from the situation, repeatedly telling me "I don't know what happened, I wasn't here when they were fixing it" which was aggravating since that kind of statement doesn't help to resolve issues at all. After that unpleasant interaction, he begrudgingly took my laptop back to repair the power button. Despite the horrible customer service from the manager, however, one of his employees working that night was very kind to talk to. He never showed an ounce of attitude toward me, took time to listen to my story, seemed very understanding, and was even nice enough to suggest other cheap, possible options to get a new computer to finish my semester in the case that mine couldn't be repaired, after which I thanked him before leaving. In the slim chance that I ever come back to this location for repairs, it'd be due to kind gestures such as those from this employee."
"Great experience with my repair. They explained everything. Very quick, efficient, and clean."
"I brought my son’s phone for a battery replacement. They ran a diagnostic test and this was the only issue found with the phone. When replacing the battery they damage the charging port. Now the iphone doesn’t work."
"Geek Squad chat said Geek Squad could fix my trusted platform module on my VAIO laptop. I took it to a BestBuy on Gessner, SW Houston. They said they could fix it. I went to pick it up and it wasn't fixed. Of course, they already had my money. I went back twice to ask them to really fix it. The third time, they admitted they couldn't fix it, but refused to refund my money since they had already done a tune up and scanned for viruses, services I had not asked them to perform. Very poorly trained technicians and lousy customer service. Not going back. Ever. Will probably tell several people about my bad experience."
"please dont believe in the geek squad plan, they only say they would fix the item, when is damged but they never repaired nor changed it."
