Historic Wagner Farm
About the Business
Historic Wagner Farm, located at 1510 Wagner Road in Glenview, Illinois, is a museum that sits on 18.6 acres of land and is one of the few remaining farms in north suburban Cook County. Originally owned by the Wagner family, the farm was preserved by the Glenview Park District after the last surviving member, Rose Wagner, passed away in 1997. Visitors can learn about local agriculture, past and present, through the farm's programming, partnerships, and daily activities.
The farm offers a unique gift shop where visitors can purchase fresh produce, eggs, cakes, pies, and other food products that are produced onsite. The farm also hosts farm-themed birthday celebrations and events at their award-winning Heritage Center. Visitors can connect with their food and farmers through educational opportunities, recreation, and volunteer programs.
For visitors with mobility needs, the Heritage Center and much of the grounds are accessible, with paved and crushed limestone pathways. The sensory garden provides a multi-sensory experience for exploring the farm, and staff are available to help visitors who may need assistance finding a quiet space.
The farm does not allow feeding or touching of the animals for safety reasons, but there are supervised opportunities to interact with the animals during programs and events. Service animals trained to assist a person with a disability are welcome, but emotional support animals and pets are not allowed on the property.
Historic Wagner Farm is open daily to the public, offering a unique opportunity to experience and learn about local agriculture and heritage. Whether you're looking for a fun day out with the family or a memorable event venue, Historic Wagner Farm has something for everyone.

"Came here for a quick farm fix. It was decent for a small farm. They had plenty of tractors to sit on. There was a cut historical building where we learned lots of cool things. They also had a farmers market that ended at 12 but luckily some were still there after that time. They also had some cows and one horse. The parking was also easy to find and not overly crowded."
"We love it here. We stroll to the farm on a daily basis in the summer. Our son love seeing the hens, cows and horses. Occasionally he gets to touch them and it’s very neat to see his reactions to animals. The farm and park destroys have tons of events going on. The fresh market during warm months is also a delight. Addition: some animals are there all year round: cows, hens and horses. The pigs and sheep are there for the summer."
"Experience the last working farm in cook county as part of the Glenview Park District at Wagner Farm. In the spring summer and fall, enjoy seeing multiple animals living on the farm. Watch cows being milked in the milk parlor at specified times or see them in the barn or field, chickens, pigs, sheep, horses, and check out the vintage tractors for a cool picture. Make sure to check out the inside of the buildings as well to take a peak into what life was like on the farm a century or more ago, as well as the history behind the Wagner Farm. Taste some yummy ice cream on the weekends too. In the summer check out the inside of the historical Wagner house to see a day in the life inside the home on a farm; bread being baked and kneaded on an old fashioned stove. Great educational and learning experience for the entire family! Highly recommend! Myself and my children love visiting the Wagner farm."
