Steak 'n Shake

"Nice location and clean. Kiosk was only way to order food. Glad the one kiosk accepted cash. Having been a car hop at Hampton Steak n Shake for 4 years in the late 60ys, I missed a waitress to take my order and serve the food. Enjoyed the old photos on the wall of past years in business. May have been me, I was number 22!"

"Ordered a burger via drive through and nearly lost my life due to the large piece of plastic shown. Bit into the burger and the plastic went down my throat. Went back to the restaurant to report this and the managers response was I can give you a free milkshake. SMH So insulting...no compassion for the situation at all. This was not a mistake this was done intentionally!"

"Using the app, I ordered our dinner. Then I went inside and was ignored for twenty minutes with at least 4 workers look at me and turn back to filling orders. I would check the pick up counter for our order. As they were closing, thirty minutes had passed, a worker finally took my name to check my order. He said "oh yeah, if you used the app it sends people to wrong store sometimes. You need to go about a mile to the other store. Your food is ready there." The app accessed my GPS at this location's parking lot. I trusted it to choose the right location. So we went to other location and it was closed. We had already paid $30 and the app said order was complete but we hadn't gotten any food. I was able to call the Kirkwood store and the owner came out and worked with me. Shame on this first store for ignoring me for so long that I barely got my food and it wasn't fresh cause I was so late getting rerouted. Never ever will we go to this location again. Inexcusable."

"The new experience at Steak n Shake is not great. You order at a kiosk, the kiosk is out of order so nothing goes to the cooks, the manager? Reluctantly takes your order & it comes out one at a time. You get your own drink, but there's no ice. The shake comes at the end of the meal. And it's supposed to be a nostalgia vibe? Nah."

"We were able to get seated right away despite the noon rush. I had the Taco Salad for lunch. It was okay, have I had better, yes but not for $4.99. The service was prompt and friendly. This S&S location provides a drive through and a bar counter. It also has a couple of machines that will take your money in hopes of winning a stuffed toy. You pay your bill at the counter. As always, you will be the best judge. Enjoy."
