Reviews of Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC
"Physician coded my wellness visit followup as a weight loss consultation because I had a question about it at my followup among other things discussed. My insurance did not cover the visit and the office refused to resend billing back to my insurance coded as a follow up visit. Don’t waste your time with this office, physicians are dismissive and the billing department is not helpful."
"NP Marjorie Craig canceled my appointment after I arrived because I was clearing my throat. I was clearing my throat, because my allergies (for which I have a prescription, written by this office) were acting up at 8:30 am, in June, in the Midwest, on a high pollen count day. NP Craig said that I could not be seen until I have tested negative for COVID. She didn't take my temperature & she didn't ask if I had any other symptoms, she just cancelled me because I was clearing my throat. I know this is a doctor's office, but you might not want to go here if you're sick, have symptoms of being sick, have allergies or maybe even after having a spicy meal. ps the test was negative *surprise*!"
"I usually had a pleasant experience here , but honestly I feel very judged and will be going someplace else. The lab technician that drew my blood was so kind and helpful ! She was the only helpful person there ! But I was seen by Marjorie and I had been worried about something that was serious to me. ( feminine issue ) and as I was walking out, she made a joke and said “ is this going to be a summer thing for you?” Since a similar situation happened a couple summers ago. I felt very offended and embarrassed. Completely unprofessional comment."
"I am furious. My wife took our youngest son there last night because he had a fever and was inconsolable. He was seen by Maria Jefferson Walker and after checking his ears, throat, and listening to his chest, she told my wife it was just a viral infection that would run its course. Over the night, my son spiked an 104 degree fever. First thing this morning, she called our pediatrician. Our pediatrician immediately noticed that Liam had a terrible ear infection. I am very upset that this NP missed something so very simple to diagnose. I understand that mistakes happen, but this is not the first time I have had a problem with this facility. Several months ago, our other son was seen there and was given medication for an ear infection. We called his pediatrician the next day to fill them in, only to find out that they had prescribed him a much higher dose than is safe for his age/height. We let this first mistake go, but after this second mistake and visit I am obviously, rightfully upset. We will not be back to this location ever again. Something needs to be done here before someone is seriously hurt due to their negligence."
"Newly opened walk-in clinic inside of a building with other medical specialties. Reviewing based on walk-in service. Pros: Location Hours 7-9 daily Very Friendly staff Still new -hardly busy Cons: Older, gloomy building inside (but I went at night) So new -still working out kinks New patient registration + newer staff makes for longer intake process. Door to room took 20mins (and we were the only patients so no wait, it was all intake), then medical intake 20mins (this is where the kinks part comes in, new staff learning equipment but very apologetic and nice), visit 10mins, discharge 5. Note you will see a nurse practitioner not a doctor, which is totally fine for visits qualified as walk-in but noting because other walk-ins nearby have docs but again not necessary. The NP who saw my son was very friendly, informative and talked over treatment. Because this location is within a 3 mile radius of other new modern walk-ins, it fell short on intake logistics and building modernization so I docked for that, but the service outweighed the amenities and I would return again if needed."
