"Got a bill 5 months after baby was born. I left a message and they called me back weeks later. Then I gave them the information and they called to tell me the account was already in collections and they couldn't use it or submit it. The lady said she didnt have the babys full name to contact the insirance company. This company is a joke. Refuse this company and get a different one to do the test."

"Keep contacting hearing screening associates for billing and never get a person on the line. Keep leaving voicemails and I don’t get any response. I have the insurance to pay them but the insurance can never get ahold of them either. Instead they sent our bill to collections which is interfering with buying a home. Here we are a year later and the insurance still agrees to pay them but still can’t get ahold of them and neither can we. We left have countless voicemails but still nothing. If you don’t want them to literally ruin your life then don’t use them. Request another hearing company when your baby is born. Don’t take no or threats for an answer. It’s your right to have an opinion from another company. This company should never exist."

"Sent me to collections after (apparently) trying to contact me 1 whole time MONTHS after I had my son. The company stated they sent me a bill in the mail which I asked to see, and they ended up sending me a statement that was dated that same day I emailed them. When I asked for the statement for the date it was apparently already sent, they didn't feel inclined to email me back. I reported the company to the Illinois Attorney General. The IAG then emailed me with the some documents the company sent them in response to my complaint, including the statement I'd asked for (still don't remember receiving). However, the IAG asked them if they only contacted me once before sending me to collections which they admitted to. According to the IAG, the president of the company was informed and apparently there's to be a re-training of staff as they're suppose to attempt contact at least 3 times before sending to collections. I assume this was to simply satisfy the IAG as you'd think the company would have re-trained staff after seeing the abysmal reviews here on Google forever now, but alas. Do not let companies like this railroad you. Report them to the proper authorities and hold them accountable. Five stars to the Illinois Attorney General, zero stars for this shill of a company. If we have another baby and someone from this company comes into my recovery room, I'm going to ask them (kindly) to leave."

"Received a bill 10 months after I had my baby for almost $400. I was billed because the hearing screening specialist who administered the mandatory screening was out of network, but the hospital I was currently in and had delivered in was not in network. It was quite laughable when they said they were helping me as a new parent by not billing me until 10 months later. Maybe Hearing Screening isn't 100 percent to blame, could possibly be the Hospital not making sure the specialist was in network for a mandatory screening but everyone can do their part. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because their customer service rep was polite as I went through the whole process of appealing to the hospital, health insurance, and them."

"Same as the other complaints, but at least we actually got our bill. In my opinion, the folks over at Jordan Valley Medical (and other hospitals) deserve equal blame for being the ones hiring this shady company, and for allowing them to perform the newborn hearing screening (and being the ONLY ones to perform this service) while being "unaffiliated" with the hospital (which means insurance-wise, this is billed as "out of network"). Patients should NOT be the ones paying for the fallout of the battle between hospital business/billing mismanagement and predatory health contractors. And as much as I loathe the concept of health insurance in general, this isn't the fault of BCBS or any other insurance company, this is unethical business practices taking advantage of new parents simply because they can make more money/save time billing directly than by going through insurance. This is not an elective procedure, and it's appalling how they are running their company as a cash grab."
