"The staff was very kind and helpful. Not a big selection of sports but the kiddos are not complaining. I would be nice to have more than one team per each sport."
"They have great services and great people but why is our YMCA as small as one room at the Round Rock location? Maybe we invest in our youth instead of investing in keeping Sun City happy. I dont run the city but seems like we need to up our game to help give the youth of Georgetown some where to go. The Rec caters to the older generation so the youth cant do anything there either. Nothing new"
"This review is specifically about the summer camp this year 2022 in Carver in Georgetown. Some teachers are nice, but some are impatient with discrimination. When I went to drop off my kid, I was asked where I was from; when I said I was local, I was interrogated with an impatient tone that where I was ORIGINALLY from. My son tried to offer some water to a kid but touched that kid's water bottle by mistake, my son was suspended for 3 days. And of course we could not get any refund. The staff was not carefully chosen. Again, I talked to quite a few teachers, and they were nice and competent from what I could tell. But some definitely needs basic respect and training. The way the summer camp was organized was a mess; and by a bunch of college kids being the "director" of the summer camps. We were shocked at the quality of the summer camp and definitely will not put our kids back to YMCA summer camps."
"This review is specifically to talk about the summer camp, Camp Brightwell. The initial set up to get my son signed up was fine, but after that it all went downhill. The director, Daveya, is absolutely horrible with communication. There is an automated email that goes out every Sunday, “from her”, but other than that you won’t be hearing back from her about anything. My son only went to camp for 3 weeks and it was miserable for all of us. They are constantly losing things (in 3 weeks they lost 3 towels, 2 water bottles, a lunchbox, and 2 sunscreens - all of which had his name on them), there is clearly no supervision (my son had bruises and marks on him from other kids pushing him around), and when trying to address my concerns, I received no communication in return. It is honestly appalling and I will never send any of my kids there and will not recommend Camp Brightwell to anyone."
"I signed up my 5 year old son for soccer last week and had a great experience. Two ladies were there and both were helpful, informative, and were overall pleasant. Just want to add that this is not a full blown YMCA with basketball courts, gym, etc."
