"Negative stars should be allowed. My wife went to her first appointment with this practice on Feb 2nd. She saw Doctor Kennedy and was helped by an employee named Gilbert when selecting and ordering glasses. The glasses were supposed to be ready about 7 - 14 days. Gilbert called her on Feb 16 at 11:40am and said the glasses "didn't pass inspection and so it has to be redone" and that he'd put a rush on it. My wife called them Friday March 1, they said they'd talk to Gilbert and get back to her. It is now March 5 and she still doesn't have her glasses and no one has called back. My wife called again today at 12:08pm. The branch manager Brenda said she talked to Gilbert and he said he released them already. What? When? To WHOM??!! We live 30 minutes away. We haven't been back to Elgin Family Eye Care since Feb 2nd - the date of the appointment! This visit w/glasses is over $800 for everything before insurance. Branch Manager Brenda said she would look into it and *promised* to return our call today. She did not call us back, no one called back. It is now 9:18 pm and the location is closed. Thieving from a patient is not good business practice. I don't know what is going on with Gilbert but this is not right. And the integrity of this practice should be worth more than these glasses. I will not retract or update this review until Elgin Family Eye Care gives us a full refund for the price of the glasses and for a copy of my wife's 2 prescriptions SIGNED by Doctor Kennedy. We now have to get the glasses made someplace else. They can keep their fee for the checkup, but we should not be charged for glasses we have not received! It was a mistake to pay for the whole thing in advance out of good faith that a doctor's office would not steal from their customers! This is unacceptable service not worthy of a single star and needs to be corrected."

"Proper care and support. Did not try and sell me things which were unnecessary. They fitted my current expensive frames with the new lenses with a great final product."

The person who checked me in was also very helpful in answering any questions I had. Dr. Kennedy has always been professional and kind. He is thorough, patient and takes the time to listen to and answer your questions. At this time, I have no intention of going anywhere else for eye care. I have also had great customer service from everyone at Elgin Family EyeCare. Kudos to the staff."

"The staff are all great - very helpful and kind. They seem interested in preventative care as well, with the exam that takes an image of the back of the eye. Never had that done before at any other eye doctor, but it was informative and interesting. Dr Kennedy made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions, even did a quick follow up exam after putting in my new contacts to ensure I had the correct prescription. Great experience!"
