"By far the best place we've stayed at. The decor and little details throughout were so cool. The hidden treasure! Such an awesome touch! I wasn't too sure about the outdoor shower but it ended up being one of my favorite things. Don't even get me started on Paris, the sweetest little doggy companion. She was always there waiting to guide us to and from the treehouse. The goats were pretty cool too. Overall we loved our anniversary weekend here."

"If I could tell everyone I know to go experience geode hunting and staying in a treehouse just once I would! 2 summers ago we stayed in the Captains Quarters and had a fantabulous time in our cabin with all the little hidden compartments to explore, wandering through the woods and then hunting for geodes along the river and in other areas around here and the nearby Keokuk in IA. The owners dog, who practically lived with us during our stay, was very sweet and cuddly, which was nice as we missed our own pups. It was fun to visit the goats too. The pooping & showering situation is “different” but just embrace it… YOU CAN DO IT!"

"Lovely hosts! We got there and our names were written on the door for welcoming. Place was very clean and inviting. We loved the time we spent there as a family for my birthday. They even messaged us to let us know we accidentally left a couple items and we went back to retry them."

"My husband surprised me with this wonderful romantic getaway weekend in the woods. You will experience the real nature there. The outside shower is fun as well as the compost toilet. Please bring Paris ( Your quarters dog) a treat when you check in. Also pets are alowed with an additional fee. We sure will come back! Probably then with our dogs."
