"As a Kuchipudi and Sangeetham student of this school, I can say that Hema Auntie is the best teacher I could’ve ever asked for! She is not just a guru, but also like a second mother. She knows exactly when and how much to push her students, but also how to calm them down and be there for them, no matter what. She fully supports and encourages her students while still fulfilling the duties of a teacher. Hema Auntie makes dance and music fun, inspiring, and interesting, and finds a way to teach both to help you immerse yourself in the art forms, while still pushing you to your true potential. If you’re looking for a Kuchipudi or Sangeetham teacher, look no further!"
"I have learnt Carnatic singing on and off since I was 10 years old under a few teachers. It has taken me 15 years to finally find a wonderful teacher, who I am blessed to call my guru. I honestly consider myself lucky to be learning carnatic vocals under the knowledgeable guidance of Hema garu. I stay in India and attend between 1 & 2 online classes, each lasting between 45 mins to an hour, every single week. Each and every single class is an amazing mix of fun and challenges. Hema garu knows exactly how much to push her students, to vastly improve their skills and at the same time is sensitive to ensure that her students don't feel intimidated by the challenges. She genuinely works towards the improvement of her students and in today's day and age, where almost every teacher has become so commercial, I consider myself lucky to have found such a generous and knowledgeable guru as Hema garu. Don't even think twice before enrolling yourself at this wonderful setup!"
"Mrs Hema Malini Manju Chavali is my Kuchipudi dance Guru/teacher.I joined Guru Parampara school of Arts two years back. I’m a mother and a full-time working professional. I have been a Kuchipudi dance enthusiast since my childhood and I feel extremely lucky to have found Mrs Hema Chavali as my teacher as she brings in the authentic experiences and discipline of her Guru Padmabhushan Dr Vempati Chinna Satyam Garu under whose tutelage she mastered Kuchipudi dance, Carnatic music, nattuvangam and involved in several dance dramas choreographed by Dr Vempati garu. Mrs Hema Chavali not only is diligent with formations or steps/Jathis but explains the dance compositions ( sahityam) with detailed meaning from their original Sanskrit/Telugu languages into easily applicable vocabulary in English) . With that, she also shares the history behind many of the innumerable treasures that Dr Vempati Garu composed and choreographed himself. Because of my age and being in beginner items, I share my classroom with 10 yr old through teenage and adult students. Regardless of our varied age groups I am amazed with Mrs Hema ‘s exceptional teaching skills where she breaks any complex dance step into simple easy to understand format and tailors the lesson to each individual student. Instead of strict mundane curriculum for a group she encourages students to learn and evolve based on their practice and skill bringing in a positive disciple through encouragement, excellent mentorship, moral values, humility, and timeliness. If you are a classical dance enthusiast or a parent do not hesitate to reach me for any further clarification questions or a referral but I would like to say once again that you will be in authentic Kuchipudi dance school or in a place of learning this ancient treasured art with Mrs Hema Chavali at Guruparampara School of Arts."
"My child has been a student of Guruparampara school for over 5years now. As a parent, I could not have asked for anything more from an outstanding teacher that Mrs.Hema is. If you place highest quality of dance, art, music, discipline, integrity, punctuality, respect, and sincerity in a single image, you will see Mrs.Hema Chavali in that image. She is an incredible dancer, singer, nattuvanaar, teacher but an even superior mentor to all her students. Her attention to detail and drive to perfection with most beginner to most advanced students is simply unheard of or not seen anywhere else. She genuinely respects her Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam garu and the art form she received from him. She is playful and intense in her class room, making sure she can connect to her students at the same time drive them to realize their potential. As a woman, she is an example of strength, discipline and integrity. If you or your child is interested in Kuchipudi art form, look no further, this is the place to be. I will gladly speak to anyone for dozens of my own positive experiences with this school and the teacher anytime"
"My daughter has been learning Kuchipudi from Smt Hema Chavali for the past 10+ years and gave her Rangapravesham performance in July, 2019. Many from the audience told me that they felt like watching a professional Kuchipudi dancer doing the performance, and that's the kind of perfection, training any learner will get from Smt Hema garu. Hema garu conducts dance events for her students by bringing well known artists from India and provide opportunity for her students to participate and give public performances. She is one of the direct disciples of Padma Bhushan , late Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, who was the synonym for Kuchipudi dance. I some times think Dallas metro has been blessed because of the Schools like Guru Parampara School of Arts. For authentic Kuchipudi dance learning look nowhere else."
