Lone Star Martial Arts LP

"This is in regards to the Lone Star Martial Arts Summer Camp. At first it sounded like a good, affordable option for summer care for our boys (6 & 4), but things that concerned us kept happening. Here's some bullet points about our experience: - "Water Time" meant taking the 20+ kids to a private residence to swim in the pool. We don't know whose home it was, or where it was. - my wife picked up our sons, and saw no adults in the room. She gathered their stuff and left without checking out with anyone. (other reviews also mention the scarcity of adult supervision) - Movies and TV are left to mind the children, (which is fine in moderation, but my niece watched 2 netflix movies yesterday and the LSMA website says "no screentime") I did not want to leave this review - just wanted a partial refund for the 3 remaining days that we would not be sending our boys back (they already had our non-refundable registration fees), but Mr Hodge (who would not give me his first name), was adamant that they don't do money back, and then hung up on me. Which makes sense, because this place is a racket."

"Best martial arts place around!! Highly recommend. We have been there for a long time and love it! They have lots of different programs to match your needs. Beginner, advanced, tournament team, after school care and even summer camps! The instructors are great with all the kids there and really make everyone feel welcome."

"My son has been coming to Lone Star since last summer. He participated in the summer camp and started to learn karate. He loves it and has learned so much. The instructors are awesome and so patient with the kids! They are great mentors and you can tell they want each kid to succeed. They have different class times throughout the week to help parents get their kids there on time. Great place to learn karate!!!"

"We love Lone Star Martial Arts. Mr Hodge, Mr Chandler and Mr Chandler are all amazing with the kids. My son has been attending since 2018 and there is no place better. They support the kids in all aspects of their lives. They have a great after school/summer program, regular parents nights outs, and a great developing tournament team."

"Being at Lonestar Martial Arts in Waxahachie is like being part of a family. Not just a regular fam but a cool fam! Both Mr. Chandlers are so great with these kids! Having kids who are on the Autism spectrum makes getting physical activity and feeling included in sports a challenge at times. I want to thank the dojo for inspiring my kids and treating them just like all the other kids in class! It’s our home away from home 5 days a week!"
