"Took my son to his clinic, to start we waited more than an hour to be seen, when he finally came he seemed to be talking to himself more than to me. He heard what he wanted to hear and didn’t pay attention to my comments nor answered my questions. He left very rude remarks on the notes, and even quoted things I never said, making me look like a horrible parent when the things he highlighted only ever happened in his imagination. He left the room without even saying we’re done or anything, not before LAUGHING when I expressed my concerns to him about my son. The only thing he ever talked about was how I needed to put my son on sleep medication, when I clearly told him that he didn’t have trouble sleeping every night but just randomly once or twice a month. Still he kept going on and on about increasing doses and stuff. I am definitely taking my kid somewhere else, and don’t come at me with your “let’s discuss this” because I already know his hearing is selective and none of my concerns will be addressed."

"One star is too much for him, the staff seems to hate their jobs; or maybe hate the patients the guy thinks he controls the world because he is the only one in that field in university health. I feel sorry for the kids getting the service he provides. I don’t want to seem judgmental but that’s what I got from my visit to this office. Never in time. Reading the reviews , I was wondering how many child has to go through the suffering of this clinic, how many families have to go through the unprofessional treatment of this clinic before UT realize that this clinic is doing more damage than it should help children and families."

"I know now the bad experience some parents had to deal with at this clinic. It took me over a year to get an appointment to see Dr. Phalen and the first visit I got there early and he could not even make it to our appointment in time we waited almost 2 hours to be seen. He wasn't clear about what he expected us to do for our next visit. It took almost 3 months to reach someone to talk to for our 2nd visit. He left some rude remarks and at our 2nd appointment we spoke again and he didn't even bother to listen to what I had said regarding my grandsons sleeping routine. Instead of leaving notes about what I had said he changed words around. He expected me to start him on sleeping medication right away. His new helper not really knowing the patient had also expected my grandson to be put on sleeping medication right away just because he wasn't staying asleep all night. What human being stays asleep all night without getting up because they get thirsty or have to use the restroom? Because my grandsons woke up at night because of a bad dream or thirsty he has to be on sleeping medication? The problem with Drs now is that they always want to shove medication on kids. Then when they don't get their way right away they drop the patient. What ever happened to caring for their patients. Maybe he's just being bias against certain patients."

"My son was seeing Dr. Phalen, we have been waiting to finish the testing that Dr. Phalen wanted to do. The dr asked me to get this book called 123 magic to learn better ways to discipline my son, I wasnt able to get the book “in time” so the office staff called me and my son is now being discharged as a patient due to the fact I had just gotten the book. I am beyond livid considering the testing that was supposed to be done now cant. We also had waited over a year to get in to see this dr."

"Dr Phelan was very thorough in his observations with my son. He's compassionate, but forward. What I found the most incredible, is after my child's diagnosis, our next visit focused on how us as parents are coping with the information. He suggests many different resources, and shares his knowledge of anything he thinks will help your child."
