"nice people at times. just same problems that never go away with health issues. keep givig me meds that are not doing anything except make situation worse. then some doctor from other heartland i had visit with was pressuring me about taking meds that my body didnt agree with and was showing mutiple side effects.. ?? then after that was told by some one else after that that i didnt hav to take tgem whichni already realize. why would any one want to take mwds that makes them sick or make them feel like there having wprse seizure attacks?? also i was told by counsellor to wait for phone calls for things that suppose to be supporteuve and waitied for over a month or over a year?"
"Terrible. The lady at the front desk had a look on her face like she was smelling her own stinky attitude. They are behind a glass and this lady was whispering when asking me questions, then got visibly annoyed when i asked her to repeat what she said. I'm a new patient and when i made the appointment by phone, i was never told they need a copy of the guardianship paperwork from court on the day of me and my foster child's appointment. I don't drive and my daughter had to walk home 3 blocks to get what was needed. I was fighting a bad kidney infection and was in horrible pain. I asked to sit down while we waited. She said no- and made me stand there to wait for my daughter to get back. In the meantime, she let the line build behind me and allowed other patients to be confrontational and hostile with me, even though she could have helped them while we waited on my daughter. For someone that is in the health care profession, her demeanor was nasty and unwelcoming. Her attitude was so bad that I didn't ever want to return there and i hadn't even been seen yet! It was her job to welcome us into the clinic as the person checking in people. Not only did she not make us feel welcome, she went out of her way to make us feel unwelcone. She had ZERO empathy and zero kindness. She needs to find another career because honey, this job is not for someone like you. The nurse and Dr were nice, but didn't send in the supervisor like they said they would so I could voice my grievances. They also sent my foster child's medication to a pharmacy that doesn't accept aetna insurance (it was a new state provider and I had no idea they didn't take my child's insurance). They prescribed me a medication that the pharmacy doesn't even carry. Then when they prescribed me meds the pharmacy did have, they wanted me to take 2 a day and my medical card only allows one a day. So then i had to have the pharmacy send more documents for the dr to sign and send back. And they are slow returning paperwork to the pharmacy for medication and then want to give the patient an attitude over the phone when you call. The first woman put me on hold for 4 minutes with the intention to leave me waiting in her version of timeout indefinitely. I had to hang up and call back. All I needed was for them to send the papers back to the pharmacy. I wasn't calling for controlled substances like pain meds or adderall...it was blood pressure medicine, for petes sake. At this point it's been nearly a week since I was in that office, and I STILL am without the meds to prevent a stroke or a heart attack. My blood pressure is as high as its ever been due to the stress of all of this and the thought of going back there for follow up care makes me want to throw up. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Go literally anywhere else for your medical needs, this place is terrible."
"Incompetent. Two months of ridiculousness. I originally only needed a referral. After numerous call, I finally received a referral. In the mean time, I ran out of medication. Called twice to get medication refilled. Received a call back to confirm where the scripts were to be sent. Pharmacy has never received scripts. Due to no medication I wound up in the ER and admitted to the hospital. I will never step foot in HCC again. I would call and complain if I thought it would make a difference. But they obviously have communication issues and are incompetent. I only wish I could give a lower rating."
"Have had a wonderful experience here. Am seeing them for a hysterectomy. Will be scheduled soon. Am happy to say, other options were suggested and tried but a hysterectomy is the route I will be going. Am uncertain about the process and slightly nervous and hope that the gynecologist will be useful in aiding my fears and calming my mind. Will update."
"I started going to Heartland in 2002. At that time, there was only the one facility down on Garden. I had just lost a job and was needing to get some type of healthcare, and I had already found out that the state's insurance and COBRA was going to cost me a lot more per month than what I was able to pay. I am ashamed to say that prior to this, I had considered myself to be "above" that type of "clinic," thinking that it was mainly for what I considered to be the "down and outers." Well, my attitude changed very quickly, as I became one of the patients at this facility and soon discovered that Heartland serves a wide variety of persons from many walks of life. I greatly appreciate the availability of this type of healthcare to those of us who are either underinsured or uninsured, and I have highly recommended Heartland to many people throughout the years."
