"We stayed in the Dowager House for a weekend to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The cottage was comfortable and cozy with thoughtful touches throughout, and the breakfasts were delicious. Angela and Emily are absolute gems, too, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We'll be back!"
"We rented The Dowager Cottage for the weekend. They communicated through text which was very convenient. The cottage was clean, there were snacks & drinks available in the cottage. Everything was in working order, there were 2 fireplaces, a walk in shower, and my favorite, the hot tub. They literally thought of everything (there was toothbrushes, lotion, soaps, etc in the cottage). The bed was very comfortable. Lots of games & movies were also available. They had a multiple course breakfast at 9am in the mansion's dining room, or they would deliver it to you at 9:30am. It was a wonderful weekend and great experience!"
"This is an amazing place to stay. A little on the spendy side, but worth the experience. Everything was well appointed. We stayed in one of the cottages, and it was a very sweet place. It would be GREAT for a honeymoon spot. Hostess was very responsive. Breakfast (3 courses!!) was phenomenal!! We also got a tour of the downstairs, but couldn’t get upstairs due to remaining guests. NOTE: the mansion does not have an elevator, so bear that in mind when making your reservations. We initially had a room on the 2nd floor, but due to our age and luggage, opted for one of the sweet cottages. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ❤️❤️❤️❤️"
"TOP NOTCH! We rented all 8 rooms of the mansion for a fun weekend. There are SO many wonderful things to say about this beautiful, historic home. What a cool piece of history to stay where Samuel Clemens stayed. The antiques, original furnishings, and period pieces were a delight to see. It had modern conveniences and the inn keeper had thought of every detail. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The linens were luxurious. The towels were so plush! The jacuzzi tub was wonderful. The food--- oh my goodness, the food! Angie communicated with me before our stay and had an amazing lunch prepared for us (Emily was a wonderful server). The breakfast was to die for---so, so yummy. There were so many choices, even for some picky eaters! We all left completely satisfied. We are locals, and this was such a fun getaway to relax for the weekend. We played a murder mystery game (that had been customized to Garth Mansion) that was a lot of fun. We will definitely be back. I'd like to try one of the cottages next time. Having the mansion all to ourselves was something really special! Angie was just the best and is such a gem! We've stayed at the other mansion in town in the past and this one surpasses it, in my opinion. Oh, and the cleanliness--it was pristinely cleaned. I really can't say enough about this amazing B&B."
"I stayed here for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it! It was my first official B&B experience, and it definitely did not disappoint. The host, Angela, was so friendly and helpful about Hannibal recommendations. The breakfast was great, and I felt like I was in a quaint cafe! The rooms were very clean and the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. An absolutely beautiful stay!"
