"I had a business trip with important early meetings at Bureau Jct. and then Henry, Illinois. There weren't many options to choose from. I didn't want to stay in the Quad Cities or LaSalle/Peru as I needed to get going very early and could not afford to spend much time driving. The Knox Hotel fit that description. It was also very quaint and fun experience, not something I usually experience on the road. One word of advice, don't lose the emails they send you regarding check in. That will inconvenience them and you."
"My husband and I stayed at the Knox while driving through the area. We booked at the last minute and were thrilled they had a room. Beautiful historic hotel, being carefully restored by the owners. Great amenities and location in lovely Princeton Illinois. Worth a visit!"
"This place is amazing! Pictures just don't do it justice you really have to come see it for yourself. There is so much historic beauty and charm that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time but without sacrificing the modern conveniences we enjoy. It was super clean and welcoming and I can't wait to visit again! The owners are also super welcoming and put so much of their hearts into the place which really shows in the homey feel of the place. It really is a must stop location if you are traveling anywhere near. Even if it's a little out of the way it's worth the drive."
"Any traveler w hotel chain ennui should book a night at this gorgeously restored historic hotel. Still in progress, but a refreshing labor of love with carefully orchestrated art, textures and color. The friendly owner made it easy for us to slide in to this cool town for just one night—and was kind and accommodating when we needed a late check out the next morning. A wonderful find."
"What an absolutely lovely place to stay if you're visiting Princeton. We stayed here over the weekend while participating in the Z-Tour bike ride, and it was perfect. The room was large, quiet and clean. The bathroom was nicely laid out and roomy (not always something you find in restored buildings). The hotel is in a perfect location to enjoy the north side of town (and the south end of Main Street too, if you're willing to walk about a mile) We had breakfast next door at the Flour House Bakery, grabbed drinks at Barrel Society, and browsed the several antique stores in the area. The building itself is part of the attraction of this hotel. The owners are undertaking a significant and very complete renovation of this 1850s building, and are doing a very nice job of it. There are nice little touches throughout the project which shows that this is as much a labor of love as a business venture."
