"I cannot recommend Austin Cyberknife. I am a nuclear engineer and familiar with the equipment used by this practice to treat various ailments. My concern is with the amateur way the machine is operated and the indifference of the technicians who run the machine. I detect no particular commitment to quality assurance or quality control. In the course of my treatment, a technician announced my irradiation had been completed and I was free to go, but seconds later discovered I still had almost 10 minutes of treatment remaining. She apologized and said she had been distracted. Under Texas radiation safety regulations, I believe this should have been treated as a medical event and documented by the office radiation safety officer. When I am being irradiated with several Grays of radiation, I find it discomforting to be told that the technician was distracted. On more than one occasion, I have had to call multiple times with my desire to speak to a physician only to be relegated to a technician or physician's assistant. In the past few weeks, I have experienced headaches, hearing impairment and lethargy. I have called twice to speak to a physician about this. The first time, I spoke to a tech who promised me a doctor would call back before the day was over, but I never received a call-back. A second call would only reach an answering machine with no call-back. A physician's assistant finally called me back a day later and prescribed steroids. When I picked up the medication, I discovered that the medication should not be taken if a person had a neurological eye impairment, which I do. When I tried to reach the physician after hours to clarify this, I discovered there is no on-call option for after hours or weekend questions. I had to call a physician at an unrelated practice to answer my question. There are other options for safe and effective Cyberknife treatment in Texas. I don't recommend Austin Cyberknife."
"Visit with Dr. Stephen Brown - if I could assign more than five stars I would. Dr. Brown listened, explained everything in great detail and immediately made us feel at ease. We came away feeling that we had met the true definition of a doctor - we are so impressed."
"The treatments on Monday & Wednesday were delivered professionally and without any unpleasant side effects as far as I know. I look forward to my final appointment on Friday."
"He is charming and very patient never any hint of hurry and he never glances at the clock. He answers your questions first with a simple explanation and follows with a more technical one"
"I met Dr. Kolluri today. She is a really good listener. After she listened, she answered all my questions and she explained things very clearly and I am very comfortable with her managing my care."
