"I didn’t start very well with my cancer treatment with Texas oncology (Midtown) We had a few billing and insurance issues at the beginning of my treatments that were not good but since then, everything seems to have become resolved. As far as clinical care Dr. Maleare and his staff are very knowledgeable and respond quickly to all my questions. The staff is very good at reminding me of of upcoming appointments, lab work etc. so I don’t miss anything. This is important to my family during this stressful time espescially since we have young children (6 and 4) that have obligations pre k, kindergarten etc. and are flexible if I have a scheduling conflict. I Would definitely reccomend Texas Oncology for your Cancer treatment"
"Very disappointed. When the chips were down and I needed quick responses I got the typical TX Oncology thing. Update the portal and wait a day or two for them to respond to the email and mark resolved in the portal but not do actually anything. If that is not the case I am constantly following up behind staff to manage their mistakes. You would be wise to avoid Midtown and find a group with better staff."
"I was told last Thursday I had a guaranteed spot into a trial verbally. I asked if we need her to get in writing and she said oh no it’s guaranteed. Then Friday 30 minutes before they close approx. 430 I get a call to tell me I’m out as they filled it already. I am not happy it is a shame that they can do this to a 37 year old man with terminal cancer that has three children. I don’t think I’ll ever approach this clinic or this doctor ever again. This is my first bad experience with Texas oncology. I even debated leaving this review, but if there’s anybody else that gets into a trial, they need to get it in writing."
"I usually go to the Round Rock location bc my Dr is there but Midtown was closer to home for labs and a lupron shot only. I give them a one star bc this is now the 3rd time I’ve came to Midtown location and I don’t know why it’s taking over 30 mins to wait for labs and then over 30 more for a shot. At the Round Rock location, there are just as many people but the Round Rock facility is able to run smoother and faster. Mind you, I try to come 15 mins earlier to make sure I’m there right after work at the Midtown location and I am still waiting an additional 30 mins to get labs first. I don’t know what’s going on but you guys need to have a better work flow especially with something as simple as getting labs and one shot. Updated Review: I appreciated the call back TX Oncology Midtown with understanding my concerns and stating that they are working on improving the work flow to reduce wait times which is why I increased the number of stars for the appreciation of following up with their patients."
