"I went to the 1960 Location .. in August ..must say Front desk staff very nice .. they were trading some one new and she was pretty nervous but nice … the MA that took me to the back was amazing … made me feel so welcomed .. and pretty much assured me I was in the right place now let me tell u I was already feeling shaky and sick that day… but she made me feel so calm .. the wait was a bit long in the room but… once I met Dr Yen I understood why… he was the most caring doctor.. explained everything in details .. did not rush me .. he asked questions and just over all assured me he will help me every step of the way .. I honestly can say I walked out the room feeling amazing and less stressed … Until….I went to check out…First off I walk towards check out and confused to who to go too… there was a girl sitting in the desk looked at me very ugly as if I was bothering her!!!I politely asked “I’m sorry is this where I check out ..she said yeah with either her or myself .. well the other girl was on the phone so I said ok I’ll make my appt with you .. she didn’t allow me to sit and literally had me standing the whole time in which she decided to have a full blown conversation with a Rep about when she was bringing breakfast or lunch and how she wanted the rep to use her mom for it .. how her mom is now in the Shenandoah location etc it was at lease 10 min conversation in which I had to wait standing up to then get sched !!! As if I was not a priority !!! This was very unprofessional of Celeste I believe her name was … very rude .. to the point that made me feel uncomfortable as if I was bothering her … she was not apologetic for making me wait she was not nice when I asked her for an appt card she literally rolled her eyes ..she was the most unprofessional person in that office and honestly tarnished my whole experience at the office ..I did cancel my follow up because of her… but the staff kept calling me finally I was convinced to sched again for my lab f/u the person who answer very nice apologizing for the bad experience with Celeste .. and I respectfully asked to please never have her check me out again .. but over all 5 stars for the rest of the office !!!Please so not treat patients this way especially when the Dr is amazing n the rest of the staff ."
"Dr. Yen saved my life. He was the weekend on-call hematologist the night I went to the ER for bruising and bleeding. I won the doctor lottery that night. He is the most dedicated physician. He treated me and my entire family with so much love and respect. He allowed me to be a participant in my care and made certain I always understood what was going on. I was very close to death the night I went to that hospital and was dx’d with leukemia. That was 19 years ago. Because of him and the doctors who later performed my transplant, I was given the privilege of watching my children grow up and have children of their own. I had the privilege of holding my mother’s hand as she left this earth. I now have the privilege of taking care of my dad the way he cared for me. It all started with Dr. Yen."
"Doctor Yen saw my mother who had symptoms that we needed to know if were due to cancer. He ordered imaging tests and thankfully the results were nothing to be worried about. Doctor Yen, however, did something that I saw very few doctors in the US or overseas do: He checked the imaging CDs and explained what the scan was showing, this calmed my mother (who can get very anxious about health issues) and also served to show his expertise in his field. He has excellent bedside manner and this extra service is why I rate him 5."
"Been a patient of Dr. Yen since 2016 when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. He's the same today as he was then - exceptional, dedicated, professional, compassionate, caring and always seeking knowledge on what's best for his patient! I can't imagine another oncologist caring for me. He is THE BEST!!!"
"I really like Dr. Yen ! It's his staff that has been lacking lately. I had bloodwork done for Dr. Yen on May 18th, I still don't have the results. Normally someone calls me and then it is posted to my patient portal. A week later and nothing is there yet, it has never taken this long for simple blood tests to come back. I understand if he was running complex tests, but this was a basic metabolic panel. I have tried calling multiple times. Even today I was put on hold for over 25 minutes and then we were disconnected. Dr. Yen is not listed on the patient portal, therefore I am unable to communicate with him/his staff via it. I will try again on Monday I suppose, I can't sit on the phone all day on hold. I have other appointments to get to. Someone please fix this communication issue !"
