"This is typical giant company, bought my dog for his paws issues and vaccine, however, they never found out what's wrong with it. The other vetco didn't ask me to leave the room while my dog was be treated, but this place asked me to leave the room and in result, never got better but paid for vet's fee, for what? Animals can not speak their pains, and people trying to take advantage of it!? I don't know what else to say. Please don't bother getting email address and solve the issues, should've thought of that in the first place!"
"Simply put, negligent and unprofessional location. I once had high hopes for this location after a less than satisfactory experience at another location and it’s clear that it is a issue no matter the location. Do not prescribe medication you can’t effectively provide or supply to your clientele. Do not make false promises that you know you cannot fulfill. Truly a detrimental way to operate when you are lackadaisical with your responsibilities as a total care vet. Not only that, very irresponsible to have been informed of a dire situation due to an error on your staff’s behalf and instead of rectifying it, the leave before the posted hours detailed on your business profile. Scheduled to close at 6pm but the staff leaves at 1pm? I honestly don’t understand how that’s appropriate or legal when you know you’re an entity that provides medical services. Nobody is ever scheduled when they are needed and it’s clear they follow their own rules despite being held to standards most vets are held to as well. Truly wasn’t worth relocating to another location to still experience the same issues, but expected to pay for services."
"Loved it, except 1st visit was supposed to be free, but left after paying almost $75( money I word gladly spend on my babygirl unless thats our gas ans food money. Then I would e waited till next paycheck )started procedure if no record of rabies shots after some kind of discount? Other than that I loved it. I think babygirl did too."
"Unfortunately have to update my review. When they were Thrive the team was incredible, empathetic and reasonable. After having to reschedule for being 2 whole mins past the "grace period" my partner returned today with 3-4 vaccines except the one we scheduled for...which they failed to advise she was actually up to date on. The entire reason we scheduled this was because the app stated she was overdue and she needed her nails trimmed. They refused to clip her nails - something they always did before. And now we have to wait another 24 hours before she can go to the groomers because of shots we did not ask to take care of today. The discharge paperwork was not only brash, the concern mentioned at the visit was completely incorrect. And if course, more product pushing. They very clearly took advantage of the less knowledgeable parent coming in this time because they know my dog, me, and what we come in for. After years of a great experience, primarily when this location was thrive, today it was apparent that making money was the most important part of my dogs visit today. After being constantly talked over last time I visited, I let it go. Today, I'll be looking for a new clinic."
"I recently took my dog in for blood in his urine. The vet was a different vet than the first vet my dog had seen before. She needed all his information again, even though it should have been in the system. Of course, we’re doing social distancing, so she had to call me to explain the exam. She talked down to me and was very judge mental when I told her I could only afford $85, ($35 of which was the exam fee). She insisted that he was close to the end of life, even though he was barely bleeding. He had gone a few weeks ago for skin issues, and the first vet knew about the blood in his urine but didn’t seem to indicate he was in any real danger. The second vet interrupted me when I had questions, insisted that my dog needed about $600 in tests, one of which is an X Ray, (What? Why? For a urinary problem?) and she would not agree to just do a urinalysis. Her tone of voice was very condescending, and she made me feel like the worst dog owner ever. I asked her what she could prescribe for urinary tract and she said the only thing she could do was a painkiller without the tests. I told her I would bring my dog in again when I had more money for the Urinalysis. I thanked her for the prescription and actually said, “Thank you very much”. She ACTUALLY HUNG UP THE PHONE on me. Didn’t say “you’re welcome”, or “goodbye”. Just hung up the phone. So I went to this place because they offer low-cost veterinary services. But I’m starting to think I should pay the $15 more to go to a regularly priced vet. I loved the first doctor he saw at Thrive Affordable Animal Clinic in Grand Prairie. She loved my dog and was very sweet to him and informative to me. The second vet had zero “bedside manner” with animals and people. It would have been nice if she could have referred me to a company that does low cost tests for animals, or grants for people with financial difficulties. I lost my job due to COVID-19, and I started doing the gig apps to stay afloat (Lyft, Uber Eats, Favor, Shipt). I’m not making near what I was making at my FT job. Just a little compassion regarding financial decisions and the health of my dog would have been nice. It’s a scary time anyway, and I may end up losing my dog on top of it all. If anyone is reading this and knows of low-cost or no-cost testing services for animals, I would very much appreciate the info. My email is: shekinahr@gmail.com. Thanks!"
