"Horrible attorney. Stay away. I don't know what happened to her. I was referred to her by a couple people who said she was great, but something in her practices changed. She took nearly 2 years to finally get my divorce to go through with nothing but excuses and blaming everyone else (it was a fairly amicable divorce with nothing to fight over, so there was NO reason for it to take 2 years). I knew of two other people in the same county who were divorced within 4 months, and they had kids and assets they were arguing over! Nicole is a joke, a sham, and a liar! I spoke with a couple other attorneys who said they would have done everything different and I would have been divorced in under 6 months... The last couple months of the process I had to call/email over and over again just so she would stop forgetting about me. That is when the divorce finally finalized within a couple months of me reminding her that I exist. She apparently needed the constant push to get the job done?? She wasted my time and money, and for nothing. I lost so much more in the divorce, she didn't help me at all or give me any good advice. She also put my life in jeopardy with my (now ex) abusive husband who is extremely volatile who I have a protective order against!! She shared my information with him when it was all supposed to remain confidential!! When confronted with her careless act, her reply was, "it was very late in the evening"!!? During mediation, it was over Zoom, and she was in her office which was in complete disarray - she's awfully unprofessional. She was also talking about other cases while we were waiting for the mediator, using names and details! Isn't that supposed to remain confidential? What happened to upholding attorney/client privileges?! I'd highly recommend staying far away from Nicole Bates. The only good part about her practice is her (very kind) legal aid, but what good does that do when the actual attorney is garbage???"
