"Hello, Just wanted to warn potential customers of the various hassles I have encountered when attempting to get a loan at OneMain Financial. To begin, I would not get your hopes up on trying to get a speedy loan process. Every step was dragged on for days and they have a habit of saying they would call back but in reality you will most likely have to send several calls to remind them. My loan specialist Nicole took almost an entire week just to finally get my documents reviewed. Everyday she asked for more and more documentation. I was asked for (Pay Stubs, Drivers License, Social Security Card, Copy of a Utility bill that shows an address that matches the one on the DL) If you wanted to do a secured loan they will request (Photos of your vehicle including speedometer and VIN#, a copy of your title as well as a copy of your declarations page which shows full coverage insurance for the vehicle) At this rate I was worried they were going to ask me for my vaccination records and a certificate from my doctor about what blood type I am. When I finally submitted my documentation, they said we could close the offer online. Their system is so outdated and buggy that they then requested for me to come into the branch to do it ASAP. I don't have that kind of time so I kindly took my business elsewhere. Also, their interest rate was nearly 30% so I highly recommend using other companies such as Upstart or SoFi, I was able to apply and get my money within 24 hours! Key Take-Aways: Slow service, excessive documentation, and predatory rates. Unless you're absolutely desperate I recommend staying away from One Main!"
